POSITION PURPOSE

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to work with the technology team at Prosperity Bank. This position is for a senior level candidate with extensive (and current) experience in Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, and enterprise grade storage technologies. Candidate must work well in a team environment, he or she will also be part of the overall support team and requires outstanding customer service skills both over the phone and in person. This engineer candidate must approach issues from a scientific point of view, not just guessing or memorization. They should be able to automate their way out of problems rather than simply working harder. They should have enough experience to know how to fix problems (due to experience), as well as the wisdom to verify their initial diagnosis, since symptoms can be deceiving. This candidate must have the ability to create correct and repeatable processes. The processes should be able to be followed by other non-experienced team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Day to day support of the servers and systems and handling remote support where needed including Active Directory, Citrix, Microsoft SQL, file servers; Exchange 2019 and hybrid configuration with O365 Exchange Online; and other applications as needed; limited SQL support.

  • Coordination, planning and communication of IT projects as well as documentation of any changes to the server systems.

  • Manage vendors for outsourced services and projects.

  • Design, develop, and implement Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity process, procedures, and infrastructure as well as actively participate in Disaster Recovery exercises.

  • Work closely and support the Network, Systems, and Applications teams to better support server hardware, software, and applications.

  • Maintain and support security policy and procedures.

  • Be on call to support the infrastructure as needed.

  • Identify and plan preventive maintenance, software/hardware upgrades, patch management, and firmware upgrades.

  • Working with both end users and all members of the IT staff.

  • Support of anti-virus, web filtering, email filtering, endpoint security tiers.

  • Design, develop, and implement Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity process, procedures, and infrastructure as it relates to the Information Security Program, well as actively participate in Disaster Recovery exercises.

  • Work closely and support the Senior Network Analyst and the Application's team to provide deep security layers around server hardware, software, and applications.

  • Identify and plan preventive maintenance, software/hardware upgrades, patch management, and firmware upgrades.

  • Working with both end users and all members of the IT staff.

  • Develops, monitors, and reports on information security performance metrics (such as threat level, vulnerability level, problem resolution time, etc.)

  • Identifies areas of non-compliance and makes recommendations for achieving compliance.

  • Keeps updated on IT security regulation changes and new developments in the IT security environment.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Ensures there are no repeat IS security related findings from regulatory and 3rd party exams.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The engineer will be responsible for monitoring and support of the Servers, SANs/NASs (EMC Unity and NetApp), Virtual Systems infrastructure and associated technologies at the production location in Sugar Land, as well as support the alternate location in the Lubbock area. We have a highly dynamic work environment that encourages creative thinking and initiative. We strongly support cross training inside the IT Department so that member can learn from one and another as well as benefit the support team.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

MCSA: Windows Server or MCSE: Server Infrastructure, or MCSE (or comparable) preferred

Citrix CCA, CCAA, CCEE, or CCIA preferred

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

7+ yrs. Enterprise Data Center and Server experience

7+ yrs. Enterprise Windows Administration

7+ yrs. Microsoft infrastructure technologies (DNS, DHCP, DFS) specifically relating to multiple data centers and fault tolerance.

7+ yrs. Backup and Recovery systems

7+ yrs. Enterprise network monitoring

5+ yrs. Microsoft Exchange or equivalent

5+ yrs. Citrix XenApp and/or XenDesktop or VMware Horizons

5+ yrs. SPAM filtering systems

4+ yrs. Data Center virtualization

3+ yrs. SQL Administration

2+ yrs. Load Balancers

2+ yrs. Managing Azure Active Directory

1+ yrs. SIEM, preferably Alert Logic or similar

1+ yrs. Nexpose, Rapid 7 Vulnerability scanners

CISSP Certification

IT Banking

Linux support and administration

General knowledge of compliance and regulations procedures

Project management skills or PMI certification

Vulnerability Management and Server Automation tools

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

PowerShell or VB proficiency.

Must be a self-starter that can manage multiple projects / duties with minimal supervision.

Be a hands-on with proactive attitude.

Enjoy complex technical challenges.

Must be willing to travel - at least 10%.

Must be willing to work after-hours.

Must display a positive team working attitude with associates in all departments.

Meet compliance and security requirements 100% of the time.

Maintain effective internal controls standards.

Perform hardware installs as needed.

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
