The Senior Systems Engineer (Cloud) leads the design, implementation, and optimization of our diverse IT infrastructure. The Engineer has expertise in Microsoft Windows servers, Azure, AWS, Linux, Virtualization, VDI, and a strong collaborative spirit to work seamlessly across technical towers. Microsoft CRM Dynamics platform experience is a plus along with an understanding of Container scheduling and orchestration, load balancers, and Azure Data Factory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development, deployment, operation and maintenance of assigned RNL Dynamics, Server, Telecommunications, computer networks and related systems

  • Provide technical assistance, troubleshoot and repair issues as assigned and escalated; Respond to user requests for service and determine nature of support needed

  • Document configurations / processes; Learn and understand details of configurations, connectivity, security and operational protocols Configure, maintain and answer inquiries regarding compute software and hardware operations

  • Read technical manuals, confer with users, and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support

  • Utilize and write documentation through tools provided in the Knowledge Base and other resources

  • Multi-Platform Expertise:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing Microsoft Windows servers, Azure, AWS, Linux, and various virtualization technologies.

  • Lead the integration and collaboration of diverse technologies to achieve optimal system performance.

  • Technical Leadership:

  • Collaborate effectively with other technical towers including networking, telephony, desktop, and cloud teams.

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members.

  • System Administration and Network Understanding:

  • Administer and maintain system environments, ensuring their reliability, security, and scalability.

  • Possess a deep understanding of system administration and how network hardware and technologies interact.

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor operating system performance (Windows, Linux, or Mac OS) and optimize configurations for peak efficiency.

  • Optimize performance of databases, networks, applications, and servers.

  • Application Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Troubleshoot applications and collaborate with application development teams to build, implement, and troubleshoot applications.

  • Ensure seamless integration and functionality of applications within the overall infrastructure.

  • Specific expertise with the Microsoft CRM Dynamics platform.

  • Configuration Management:

  • Serve as a configuration manager, creating, applying, and enforcing processes for promoting infrastructure components across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Implement and manage patch management and asset management processes.

  • Understanding of Container scheduling and orchestration, load balancers, and Azure Data Factory.

  • Knowledge Sharing and Client Collaboration:

  • Share knowledge across the organization through documentation, training, and collaboration.

  • Participate in client projects, contributing to position papers, special studies, evaluations, and other initiatives.

  • End-to-End Support:

  • Ensure the smooth flow of data throughout the organization, resolving endpoint and user escalated issues promptly.

  • Collaborate with teams to maintain and improve the overall user experience.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; or related experience

  • Proven experience as a Senior Systems Engineer with a diverse skill set (4+ years)

  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows servers, Azure, AWS, Linux, Virtualization, VDI, patch management, and asset management

  • Experience with Microsoft CRM Dynamics

  • Strong understanding of system administration and network technologies

  • Experience with performance monitoring and optimization across various platforms

  • Ability to troubleshoot applications and collaborate effectively with development teams

  • Configuration management experience, ensuring smooth transitions across environments

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience using M365 tools (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)

  • A desire to grow professional knowledge regarding network operations and related areas

  • Self-driven and motivated

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and priorities

  • Travel requirement negligible

  • Ability to maintain and work in a remote home office

  • Remote/virtual work environment must be free from distractions while performing the essential functions of the job and have a reliable network connection

  • Position predominantly includes sitting/standing for long periods of time, close vision through the use of a computer screen, extensive keyboarding, talking, hearing, and infrequent light physical effort is required (minimum of fifteen pounds)
