What you'll be doing...

You will be responsible for the advanced installation, operation, and maintenance of the regional data network elements, ensuring network integrity and quality. These networks include, but are not limited to Nortel IOS Switch components, Oracle servers, Cisco routers and switches, Nokia AirScale LTE products.

  • Troubleshoots, upgrades, and administers multiple vendor systems.

  • Technically leads during troubleshooting events.

  • Installs, operates, administers, and performs advanced maintenance of the regional data network elements.

  • Maintains systems, elements, and platform applications.

  • Updates daily logs with site-specific information.

  • Composes clear and concise reports for system documentation.

  • Participates in cross-functional projects as scheduled.

  • Provides support to a varied user community.

  • Works a rotating over-night shift with a rotating 24/7 on-call

  • Provides project support to an area spanning nearly 4,200 sites

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

  • Ability to respond to emergency call-outs within 30 minutes while on call either remotely or by physically travelling to the MSC.

  • Knowledge of data networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSI, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, BFD, SIP and other LAN/WAN protocols.

  • Knowledge of data transmission facilities such as 1G and 10G native Ethernet, and SONET.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in any technical discipline.

  • Special electronics training.

  • Programming and computer skills with an emphasis on applications.

  • Certifications such as CCENT, CCNA or CCNP.

  • Intermediate training in the following areas: data networking and communications, wireless technologies, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, and/or power distribution.

  • Experience with Nortel IOS Switch and CDMA RAN, Fujitsu DACS and DWDM, Cisco 1K and 9K, Nokia AirScale via NSP, BTS Site Manager, and WPS.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

PURPOSE AND ROLE: This is an advanced engineering opportunity position for employees for future company advancement which requires providing the organization with technical expertise on all aspects of process design and processing techniques used by the refinery to ensure the following: * Utilize process design techniques to optimize unit design for assigned projects * Implement safety, environmental consciousness, and reliability into unit designs * Adopt principles of continuous improvement to drive out waste and inefficiency and enhance profitability JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs advanced engineering calculations (i.e., mass balances, energy balances, conversion calculations) to optimize equipment and insure product quality * Gathers, analyzes, and interprets unit test data to assist in troubleshooting operating problems and developing revised process designs * Generates and maintains an informational database on pertinent process variables for troubleshooting and optimization * Makes recommendations to improve unit yield and/or optimize energy consumption. * Track, monitor and develop process unit KPIs * Initiates and justifies new projects, additional monitoring, and improvements to the unit * Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields as part of optimizing process units * Requires the use of advanced techniques, modification and extension of theories and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines * Consults with manager concerning unusual problems and developments including development of design changes. Utilizing Management of Change processes * Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects within his/her responsibility area * Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment * Performs as a staff advisor and consultant to a technical specialty, a type of facility or equipment, or a program function * Maintains awareness of all Safety, Health and Environmental issues that impact the refinery unit design and personnel * Evaluates the economic feasibility of projects assigned and provides Process Engineering services during engineering, construction, and start-up of projects * May provide Process Engineering support during turnarounds * Provides technical support to operations during abnormal modes of operation * Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required * Preferred 5-10 years of experience in petroleum refinery process engineering, operations, and maintenance positions, experience in lube operation preferred EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: * Good communications skills required, ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals required * Process simulation experience a plus * Proficient user of MS Office Suite * Capable of demonstrating the necessary leadership that will make this individual successful in this role * Effective team skills that will make this individual successful in this role * Capability of working with all levels of the organization * Base oil manufacturing experience is a plus Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
