What you will do!

The purpose of this position is to architect Identity, Access, and Asset system safeguards through administration and engineering support to OHA/ODHS entities, community partners and customers. This position serves as a subject matter expert focusing on the enhancement, maturation, configuration, and implementation of CIS controls (#1 - #6) across supported infrastructure systems. With focus on maintaining those controls, and systems, to remain in compliance with the controls objectives.

This position requires the ability to provide creative problem solving strategies and utilize effective problem analysis for resolution of issues of complex scope for customer assistance, technical contractors, management and systems operations staff. This position is responsible for the infrastructure and application design and planning for delivering technical oversight for supporting the adoption, integration, and on-going use of Identity, Access, and Asset control based systems. Systems include but are not limited to: Active Directory, Entra, Windows Servers, IAM tools and toolsets, COTS based products, ITSM suite applications, ITAM system configurations and applications, and more.

This position will provide Q.A. oversight through rigorous reviews against controls that are in place, producing reports as necessary. The role focuses on enhancing safeguards by implementing best practices and policies. The Senior Systems Architect ensures that systems are configured to meet security requirements, benchmarks, and industry standards.

What we are looking for:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(a) Seven (7) years of information systems experience in:

managing Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Azure, Cloud Services, I.T. Service Management platforms, and Windows Server; expertise in Identity Governance, Hardware/Software, and automation;

OR

(b) An Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;

AND

5 years of information systems experience in:

managing Microsoft and ITSM COTS based technologies with expertise in automation;

  • Experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL)
  • Experience with Security Operations

OR

(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

AND

three (3) years of information systems experience in:

managing Microsoft and ITSM COTS based technologies with expertise in automation

OR

(d) Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

AND

one (1) year of information systems experience in:

managing Microsoft and ITSM COTS based technologies with expertise in automation

Working Conditions

High volume of email, chat, and other types of contact with customers who have various and unpredictable support requests. Some evening and weekend work is normal for this position.

There can be frequent interruptions, demanding timeframes, and non-traditional working hours. The location of this position is in an office, cubicle and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing.

Desired Attributes:

Knowledge:

  • Expertise in design and engineering of Active Directory (Azure) Infrastructure including LDAP, Active Directory Federation Services, Kerberos, NTLM, OAuth, SAML, Group Policies, VPN, and multi-factor authentication

  • Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.

  • Security Frameworks and Standards: Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations such as NIST, CIS, GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001. With special consideration given to CIS control implementation.

  • Network Security: Basic knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.

  • Incident Response: Proficiency in incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery processes.

  • Enterprise Applications: History of implementing enterprise level applications into various environments.

  • MsSQL Database: Mature level of knowledge in working within MsSQL database systems at all levels from configuration, administration, implementation, and O&M of the product.

  • Reporting Tools: History of working with systems to produce high quality reports to drive data driven results.

Skills:

  • Active Directory Management: Skill in managing Active Directory, including user provisioning, group policy administration, and directory synchronization.

  • Security Incident Handling: Capability to respond effectively to security incidents, analyze logs, and telemetry data from SCCM, Active Directory, and other resources.

  • Security Awareness Training: Skill in developing and delivering security awareness training to end-users.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Ability to document security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts and generate reports for management and compliance purposes.

  • Scripting and Automation: Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell) for automating security and management tasks within various environments.

  • Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including IT, helpdesk, and management, with a focus on Microsoft technologies.

  • Policy Development: Skill in creating and enforcing security policies and standards specific to CIS controls #1-#6.

  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends, features, and best practices.

  • Adaptability: The capacity to adapt to evolving Microsoft technologies and security challenges.

  • Leadership: Leadership skills are essential for guiding security initiatives and fostering a security-conscious culture across enterprise applications.

  • Certification in Identity & Access Management with ForgeRock, Ping, Okta, or Microsoft.

  • Experience with Identity Governance automation

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Microsoft Graph API

  • Basic Project Management skills

  • Expertise in JavaScript and PowerShell

  • Experience with Vendor Management

  • Experience with administering and maintaining cloud solutions across multiple public/government cloud offerings such as AWS, Google Cloud and/or Microsoft Azure/M365 Cloud Services.

  • Understanding of modern Identity and Access Management concepts and best practices including but not limited to: a firm understanding of identification, authentication and authorization of a person, or persons, to have access to applications and systems permissions.
