About the job:

The candidate will be part of a talented agile team working to build the next generation of Underwriting and Broker Portal solutions servicing North America Specialty business segment within Global Risk Solutions. The candidate will work on a vendor SaaS platform built on cutting edge technologies to deliver business value through underwriting and operations workflow automation and enabling rapid new business growth. The platform offers a drag-and-drop product designer, an exceptional e-App experience, paper digitization services, and advanced analytics. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, transforms business requirements into detailed system specifications and configures and develops insurance products on the system in accordance with the architecture, technology and standards.


  • Drive configuration, development and build of systems and solutions using the vendor platform.

  • Document high-level business workflows and transform into low-level technical requirements.

  • Create modern UI and workflows leveraging the vendor platform's drag and drop and configuration capabilities, in a largely "no-code" environment, and transform legacy paper-based workflows into modern, rich and innovative digital user experiences.

  • Think outside the box and come up with improvement and efficiency opportunities to streamline business and operational workflows.

  • Under limited supervision, participates in configuring complex insurance products as per the business/system requirements and create test cases to ensure quality.

  • Leads business requirements workshops and status meetings and mentor junior resources in the team.

  • Take lead on working with the business on maintaining/prioritizing requirements backlog and collaborate with the team and the vendor to implement new features and enhancements.

Required Qualifications and

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience Generally 5 years at a technology company, and/or in a technology/operation role, with general knowledge of architectures and technical standards.

  • Technical background and strong analytical skills with the ability to thoroughly document processes and requirements. Knowledge of software development lifecycle is preferable.

  • Experience in data analysis and database querying (SQL or XLS expertise).

  • Familiarity with the front end technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and Angular will be a huge plus.

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, and ability to work with the business and stake holders.

  • Be resourceful, open-minded, and analytical and enjoy solving complicated problems, focused on execution and attention to detail.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, is diligent and self-motivated, with an eagerness to learn and excel in a high-paced environment; an energetic go-getter with a can-do attitude.

  • Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, Test Engineers)

The team provides IT Systems Support for a production facility of approximately 800 people across two shifts in Portsmouth, NH. The position will allow a candidate to develop and exercise their technical and leadership skills while supporting the functionality of the facility. The facility has a well defined daily and weekly mission and the Senior System Administrator plays a key role in executing that mission. Your future duties and responsibilities: The Senior System Administrator's primary responsibilities are to ensure that the IT Systems are available and properly secured for the facility. The Senior System Administrator will be the point person for all IT related concerns at the facility. The concerns include, but are not limited to, daily operations, maintaining change logs, security, hardware upgrades, software upgrades, preventative maintenance, and inventory control. Applicants should be familiar of the Windows network Operating Systems (Windows 7 / 10/ 2008 / 2012/ 2016) and a general understanding of LAN / WAN networking. As a supervisor, the Senior System Administrator is directly responsible for hiring, developing, scheduling, setting expectations, ensuring the staff is compliant with company and client policies, writing reviews, involuntary termination, and other supervisory responsibilities for members of the Systems Team. The Senior System Administrator will report to the contract Program Manager in the National Capital Region. The Senior System Administrator will have daily interaction with the government management of the facility to ensure that the IT systems are supporting the facility's mission and objectives. The Senior System Administrator should have excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in interacting with the Program Manager, the local government management, and the systems team. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Must be proficient in the monitoring, use, and maintenance of the TDIS-PD system, including hardware and software troubleshooting. Inventory control of all the hardware, software, and computer peripherals for the Government; troubleshoot and relocate the workstations and/or the computer equipment, PC, and TDIS-PD related issues; and contribute in the team organization and commitment for continuous quality improvement. Ability to follow instructions and work independently on system startup and shutdown procedures, namecheck startup and shutdown procedures; recording of remedial and preventive maintenance; assist in software training; and monitor the inventory tracking of supplies. Work closely with the Hardware Technician, the Director, the Team Leaders, and the Government officials, in inventorying non-technical hardware and furniture. At the request of the DOS, and under the direction of the System Administrator, may be required to install standard Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software and hardware provided by the Government, and to perform minor hardware upgrades on agency PCs and LAN servers. PHYSICAL: Ability to lift 50 lbs. EDUCATION: A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or 4 years equivalent computer experience in Windows Active Directory, Windows 2016 / 2012 / 2008 / 2003 / 2000 Server, Windows 10 / Windows 7 / Windows XP Workstation, PC troubleshooting, and LAN / WAN support. Desired Qualifications: Experience in managing small teams. Experience supporting the US Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs, Office of Passport Services Experience in communication with remote managers, with an on-site client, and with subordinate staff.
