Position Description:

Collaborates with both business and technical team members to understand, design, implement and maintain systems and processes that enable our strategic objectives. Executes analysis for medium to large projects. Documents requirements in the form of user stories, specifications, process/journey maps. Coordinates and participates in User Acceptance Tests (UAT).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with business partners and technology partners to identify, review, define, interpret, and clarify scope of work in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.

  • Contributes to the analysis strategy for technology projects culminating in the creation of documentation to support product needs.

  • Recommends changes to existing systems design to achieve requirements, and recommends designs for new systems based on requirements.

  • Documents objectives, use cases, requirements, and specifications.

  • Monitors documentation standards and best practices.

  • Recommends traceability improvements.

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope, and works on multiple projects concurrently.

  • Works directly with the user community for project definition.

  • Communicates project plan information, objectives, and deliverables to the team.

  • Works on complex assignments and on multiple phases of a project.

  • Assists in defining analysis strategy.

  • Writes business cases for review.

  • Identifies and records risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions in accordance with project standards.

  • Participates in the review and validation of Quality Assurance test plans to ensure requirements have been met.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Computer and Information Science, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing complex analysis of software or cloud-based applications using SQL and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) or Webservices (REST or JSON and SOAP).

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Computer and Information Science, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing complex analysis of software or cloud-based applications using SQL and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) or Webservices (REST or JSON and SOAP).

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") conducting interviews with business and technical stakeholders to understand their objectives, document requirements in the form of user stories, acceptance criteria, technical specifications, process maps/diagrams, wireframe mockups, and data schema translating complex technical language and designs into business-friendly, universally understood concepts using Visio, Mural, or Excel; and communicating with technical and business stakeholders to build, refine and prioritize product backlogs within JIRA.

  • DE designing, building, testing and implementing reporting and analytics solutions; developing complex queries within Oracle or PostgreSQL databases using SQL and API or Webservices (REST or JSON and SOAP); creating reports, dashboards and visualizations using Business Intelligence Tools (PowerBI or Tableau); performing data integrations between two disparate sources using SFTP or AXWAY; performing end-to-end functional and regression testing, using SQL and API or Webservices (REST or JSON and SOAP).

  • DE converting business rules into technical specifications in support of process workflows and data inputs within Java, Angular, Oracle, PostgreSQL or MSSQL based applications to ensure accuracy, quality and condition of data, using SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, or JS.

  • DE providing production and non-production technical support by triaging, resolving, and providing root cause analysis using SQL and API or Webservices (REST or JSON and SOAP); and determining issue scope, impact, and urgency by mining and analyzing database level data, alert logs, and observability metrics using SQL and API or Webservices (REST or JSON and SOAP).
