Senior System Administrator


The Sr. System Administrator will be responsible for providing technical and operational support for the Corporate Server Infrastructure, VMware environment, Cloud Environments, and Local Area Networks. This is a 24x7 environment therefore this individual may be required to perform duties during off hours.


  • Coordination/implementation of hardware and software; ensuring corporate standards are applied for all upgrades, problem tracking, management and resolution.

  • Formulates recommendations and performs testing, change control, installation,

integration, diagnostic analysis and return to service of the IT systems.

  • Develops and coordinates system and procedural documentation of the logical and physical infrastructure.

  • Perform administration on Windows Servers (Active Directory), SQLservers, VMware Clusters and associated network components.

  • Activities such as daily server backups, anti-virus protection, performance tuning, security additions/changes/removals, security policy management, and data access controls, configuration/patch management, risk management, change control administration, and database administration.

  • Leading infrastructure-based projects


Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator

  • Exceptional experience and knowledge of Windows Servers & Active Directory

  • Solid experience and knowledge of Office 365 environments

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services

  • Strong experience and understanding of Group Policy

  • Strong experience with powershell scripting

  • Direct experience with VMware required

  • Direct experience with SAN required

  • Direct experience with a Global Infrastructure required

  • Must be able to work on a team and inspire increased productivity from teammates

  • Must be able to think and adapt quickly to meet business needs.

Job Summary Responsible for day to day management of various End User Computing (EUC) servers and systems, including SCCM, AppSense, EUC security systems, Office365, Azure and other SaaS technologies, associated servers and networks. Duties include providing support for complex, escalated issues, implementation and management of EUC systems for the both production and development environments. Main Responsibilities * Acts as escalation point for complex EUC issues for various IT Support teams * Administration of accounts on various software platforms including, but not limited to Windows 10, Office365, Active Directory, SCCM, Skype for Business, Microsoft Azure, and other internal business applications. * Advanced administrative duties on a Windows Active Directory domain. * Advanced mobile device related tasks, including mobile device management, configuration, and troubleshooting with Airwatch Workspace One. * Assist in establishing and implementing system configuration management program and policies with SCCM & AppSense. * Responsible for building Windows 10 master endpoint images, Windows10 and Office365 master patch/update testing, and ongoing performance testing/optimization of EUC systems with ongoing Microsoft feature updates. * Responsible for establishing and managing endpoint patch/update testing and deployment procedures. * Works with Security Architect team to establish, implement, and maintain best practice security principles and procedures for the enterprise. * Author internal documentation, such as environment diagrams, installation/configuration documents, and procedures. * Collaborates with System and Infrastructure Architects team to plan and design solutions and technologies that are highly available and recoverable. * Document new procedures as new technologies and processes are integrated * Maintains and grows job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities such as reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations * Monitor and maintain systems to ensure optimal performance, determine system upgrade and replacement schedules, and meet expected service availability commitments * Opportunity for travel to remote offices for miscellaneous IT Service additions, office moves, upgrades, and migrations * Participates in large scale projects as part of the Engineering team, and provide technical leadership where necessary * Participates in on-call rotation for critical system issues and maintenance * Participates in testing and evaluation of new EUC technologies for the enterprise * Proactively identify potential system risks and provide mitigation plans to team for review * Other duties as assigned Experience Required * Minimum 5 years of experience working with Windows desktop/ server solutions, including – SCCM, Windows Server 2012 R2+, SQL Server 2012+, Hyper-V, Windows 10, various SaaS platforms such as Office365 and BOX * Proven experience with hardware and software security standards and principles * Conceptual experience with networking protocols * Experience with virtualization and storage technologies * Experience with EUC systems like Group Policy, AppSense, Windows servicing & deployment, patch management, application packaging & deployment, endpoint security and monitoring * Experience with mobile devices, and advanced mobile device management * Experience with Airwatch Workspace One and Microsoft Intune a plus * Experience with Microsoft Azure a plus * Strong oral communication and documentation skills (technical and non-technical) * Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems, but also be able to work collaboratively with other teams to ensure success of cross-team projects * Excellent organizational skills and dependability * Desire and aptitude to improve information technology functions and processes Education * Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems or related field of study preferred.
