Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission Senior Systems Administrator in the San Diego area, with strong Customer relationships. The IMS Division provides mission solutions to a wide range of Defense and Intelligence Community customers. This division consists of a team of technical leaders that deliver advanced technical solutions to government organizations. Our customers have high standards, are technically adept, and use our products daily to support their mission of protecting national security. The Senior Systems Administrator will be an instrumental part of a highly technical refresh team in a small to medium enterprise technical refresh project. This is a hands-on position that requires an experienced individual to install, upgrade, patch, and manage software in a Vmware Vsphere environment. The systems administrator will work with MS Server 2012 R2, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2013/2016, and troubleshoot server hardware. Additional duties include: backups, disaster recovery, Cisco VTC, router and switch updates, and other technology driven solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • The systems administrator will conduct hardware and software installation, configuration, and testing to support the enterprise tech refresh.

  • The tech refresh consists of new hardware and software to include:

  • HP Blade servers to HP DL380 G10 host servers

  • HP Thin clients

  • Microsoft Windows 10

  • Microsoft Exchange 2013

  • Windows Server 2016

  • MS SQL Server 2016

  • VMware Horizon View

  • MS Office 2013/2016

  • Cisco router and switch replacements

  • Cisco VTC upgrades

  • Cisco VoIP phone upgrades

  • DISA - Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)

  • Vmware Veeam Backup & Replication

  • Support users and helpdesk during user data and mailbox migrations. This position requires expert knowledge of physical and virtual hardware, software configuration, and troubleshooting.

Position Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in the Information Technology field, related College degree preferred: Bachelor and/or Master Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 4 years of experience with user support and troubleshooting

  • 3 years of experience managing, troubleshooting, and operating various systems in small to medium Microsoft windows environments.

  • 5 years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server and MS Office products

  • Experience with VMware vSphere

  • Experience with DISA - Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) a plus

  • Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication a plus

  • MCP, VCA6-DCV or VCA6-DTM certification required

  • Related IT certifications preferred: Formal Training in Microsoft Systems and Technology environments, MCSA or other related certification preferred.

  • Current and valid Security+CE certification required

  • Valid Drivers license and US Passport required

  • 20% Travel required CONUS and OCONUS

Security Clearance Requirements:

Secret Clearance required with future potential upgrade to Top Secret clearance


Requires Bachelor s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.
