Position

We are seeking an experienced Sr. System Administrator with experience in designing, implementing, and managing a large-scale hybrid infrastructure. The position requires hands-on experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux-based datacenter and cloud infrastructure, networking and security. You will be part of the Systems Engineering & Operations team, responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of various types of Linux-based datacenter and AWS-based cloud environments, including but not limited to EC2, VPC, IAM, Directory Service, Key Management Service, S3, ElastiCache, ALB, NLB, and RDS.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, implement, deploy and maintain cloud-based and datacenter infrastructure.

• Administer AWS Cloud and datacenter environments, including provisioning tasks and general activities.

• Perform hands-on administration of IT infrastructure to ensure that systems meet or exceed business needs and expectations.

• Perform complex System Administration tasks and IT infrastructure projects to successful completion.

• Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all IT infrastructure systems and key IT processes.

• Perform ongoing performance tuning, system updates, regular patching, and security remediation.

• Provide System Administration support of production and non-production environments.

• Develop, document, and maintain technical procedures and network/environment diagrams.

• Implement and maintain automation to enhance operation, alerting, and auto remediation of events

• Create, modify and maintain scripts for daily tasks and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Bash, Python, and/or Terraform.

Who You Are and What You Bring

• You are a passionate Systems Administrator / Engineer who has a minimum of 5-7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science or similar technical discipline; or 3-4 years and a master's degree; or equivalent work experience.

• You are a self-starter and have the ability to learn new technologies independently and work effectively both under direct supervision and autonomously.

• Strong documented background as a Sr Linux System Administrator or Jr Linux System Engineer.

• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and administration, preferably certified as RedHat RHSE or RHSA or 3+ years of working in hands-on Linux RedHat based environments (CentOS/Rocky/Alma).

• 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience with the ability to audit the environment end to end, preferably certified as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

• Strong understanding of the TCP/IP stack and OSI, including but not limited to networking concepts such as VPC, IP Addressing and Subnets, DNS, Load Balancing, and Network Security.

• Experience with AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Cost Explorer, and AWS Cloud Security

• Familiar with source control software such as Git or SVN, as well as their cloud counterparts Github, GitLab, or CodeCommit.

• Experience with AWS Cloud automation scripts and templates using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

• Experience with SIEM, such as Splunk

• Experience with KVM and VMWare

Desired But Not Required

• Automation: Experience in automation tools (Puppet/Chef/Ansible)

• Troubleshooting: Wireshark, Packet Analysis

• Network Security: Firewalls, Open VPN, IDS/IPS

• Network Management: Cisco Prime, Solar Winds, Wireshark, Secure CRT, NetFlow

• Backups: Experience in enterprise backup concepts

• Technologies: Experience with IPsec (OpenSwan/LibreSwan/StrongSwan).

• Experience with AWS Lambda or other FaaS a plus.
