As a Senior System Administrator, you will provide a capable, secure, and stable operating system and application services to support Business applications and IT services/infrastructure. You will also serve as the last line of support for infrastructure server hardware and software resources.

Some of the essential aspects of the position include:

  • Design, install, configure, support, and test a reliable solution for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

  • Responsible for day-to-day support of the Windows Operating System, various operational utilities, and the process documentation and server hardware

  • Server Installation and support

  • Creating or updating process documentation for installation/configuration, upgrades and patches of all hardware, operating system, and operational utilities on server systems

  • Managing virtualized server environments

  • Owns primary responsibility for installation/configuration, upgrades and patches of all hardware, operating system, and operational utilities on server systems

  • Adheres to documented, approved standards

  • Plans and coordinates infrastructure changes to accommodate server requests

  • Monitors, schedules, and implements server storage expansions, as required for business partner needs

  • Coordinates and plans with other support groups and vendors to provide emergency and scheduled maintenance in an effective time frame

  • Gather and analyze metrics of server performance and security

  • Responsible for coordinating changes, and minimizing the business impact

  • Understand and follow corporate and departmental processes and policies

  • Recommend and oversee advanced configurations and design new solutions within established standards

  • Act as a mentor to junior team members

  • Acts as liaison with other departments, divisions, vendors and other organizations

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in at least one of the following areas: DNS, AD, mail, OS, VDI, virtual server technology, SAN, etc.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and perform other related duties as assigned

What it takes:

  • 4-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design, computer science or related field and/or equivalent technical

  • 7+ years of experience in information technology focusing in domain specific technologies

  • Proven history of meeting and exceeding performance metrics

  • Project Management experience

  • Understanding and practical experience with ITIL principles and processes

  • Strong understanding of business processes

  • Proven ability to lead complex and or significant projects and enlist organizational support

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex and/or significant projects and enlists organization support

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve conflicting objectives

  • Identify and clearly define objectives and requirements for use within current standards

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and management

  • Conducts presentations to IT staff, management, business partners, and vendors

  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audience

Through the ingenuity of our people and cutting-edge advanced manufacturing techniques, we deliver these products at a quality and efficiency that ensure customer success and shareholder value.<br />  <br /> We have an immediate need for a  <strong>Manufacturing Process Control Systems Engineer</strong> to support Arconic's North American Aerospace and Automotive Products Business Unit.  AAP produces the widest variety of aluminum sheet and plate products in the world.  Our aluminum is the foundation for many products serving customers in aerospace and automotive systems and distribution.<br />  <br /> <strong>Duties & Responsibilities of this role include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain and develop software systems utilized to control manufacturing processes.  These software systems control the operation of our production machinery and are integral to production, quality, and safety;</li> <li>Design and implement new process control systems as driven by new product development for the facility as well as modifications to existing processes;</li> <li>Perform system upgrades to keep current with hardware and software that is still supported by the manufacturer or developer;</li> <li>Maintain the upkeep of process control computers, software licensing agreements, and backups of software files to minimize downtime of manufacturing equipment;</li> <li>Provide formatted data to the technical and process groups as requested;</li> <li>Timely access to this data essential for the plant’s quality management program and rapid problem solving;</li> <li>Solve quality and production issues associated with process control systems and develop software to diagnose quality and manufacturing issues;</li> <li>Interact with vendors and consultants to pursue high quality equipment and services as it relates to process control systems;</li> <li>Provide process control systems support for plant operations.  This support will include analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing network, server, security, and desktop network infrastructure on all levels of process computer environments, with a focus on Level 2 and 3 environments;</li> <li>Provide support and on call functions to assist in advanced troubleshooting as required to minimize downtime of production operations;</li> <li>Willing to continually expand working knowledge and application of new hardware, software and programming techniques through training, vendor contacts and published media information.</li> </ul> <br /> <br /> <strong>Qualifications</strong><br /> <br /> <strong>Basic Qualifications</strong>: <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems; or Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science from an accredited institution;</li> <li>This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee;</li> <li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
