As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will primarily be responsible for managing our worldwide deployment of forensic labs and the back-end infrastructure supporting these deployments

  • Support mission critical production simulation environments consisting of varied virtualization, networking and storage infrastructure, including maintenance and security

  • Manage technical projects Plan, execute, and document installation, operation, and testing

  • Respond to and resolve production issues

  • Engineer updated solutions from business requirements

  • Develop strategies and processes that will improve efficiency of the service offering

  • Automate repetitive tasks; analyze, design and evaluate automation scripts and systems

  • Develop, document, and manage standards and procedures in support of production environments.

  • Work closely within the service delivery team to effectively ensure reliability of core features and functionality; monitor and optimize environments to ensure performance and SLAs

  • Design and implement a fault tolerant/HA infrastructure

  • Come up with ways to do things faster, better and more effectively while maintaining a laser focus on quality

Requirements:

Experience

  • Skills and knowledge base are more important than degrees. However, we are seeking a candidate with a B.S. in Computer Science or similar / equivalent experience

  • Five years or more of experience administering VMware ESX

  • Strong analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong understanding of Windows system administration

  • Experience with Linux administration

  • Experience with network administration and protocols

  • Experience with encrypted volumes, key management, PKI

Technology

  • Demonstrated expertise with VMware vSphere

  • Thorough baseline knowledge of typical enterprise infrastructure and operating systems

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows / Active Directory, and Linux

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting networks, firewalls, routers, and operating system policies

  • Proficiency in architecting networked ecosystems of switches, routers, servers, desktop environments, security appliances, proxies, VPNs and firewalls

Leadership

Additional Qualifications:

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Availability for occasional non-standard working hours and travel for customer engagements

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities * Builds new physical and virtual servers to design specifications. * Provides operational support and maintenance to ensure systems functionality, availability, security, and performance. * Assists in the implementation of IT technology initiatives and assists the engineering staff in the transition of operational support. * Ensures all systems meet or exceed the business and security requirements in accordance with IDA, DOD, NSA, DISA, and DSS directives and guidelines. * Follows standard operating procedures and processes. * Administers and maintains classified and unclassified systems and services to ensure optimum performance and availability. * Develops technical proficiency in IT technologies; keeps abreast of industry trends. * Communicates all computer network, system and service problems and outages immediately to the SEO supervisors and/or EITO Manager. * Responds to critical after hours support issues. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field with one year Information Technology experience OR high school diploma with three years Information Technology experience. * Possess fundamental knowledge and principles in supporting servers, systems, and software, preferably Microsoft. * Experience with EMC, VMWare, Citrix, Linux and CommVault a plus. * Must be organized, self-motivated and able to work with general supervision. * Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form and with all levels of employees; possess good interpersonal skills. * Must be willing to work hours outside of a regular schedule. * Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8570 IAT II certification.
