Senior System Administrator

Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various environments. As we expand, we're looking for a Senior Systems Administrator, who will leverage their technical expertise, broad skill set, and the latest tools and technologies to design, implement, and maintain secure and efficient IT environments that support the company's operations and growth.

Location: This position is hybrid in our Syracuse, NY offices.

Responsibilities:

• Take administrative responsibility for the configuration, maintenance, and operation of computer systems, network infrastructure and servers.
• Design, implement, and manage computer and server configuration and management solutions, while developing and maintaining associated operational processes to ensure efficiency and scalability.
• Configure, install, and manage desktop and laptop computers, servers, networks, firewalls, and other essential infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Develop and implement group policies to manage system access, updates, antivirus solutions, threat management, and other critical IT functions to ensure security and operational efficiency.
• Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) solutions to effectively manage and secure company assets.
• Deploy, configure, and administer physical and cloud-managed servers and firewalls to ensure secure and reliable system operations.
• Design, implement, and maintain a secure and efficient network infrastructure supporting both physical and cloud-base systems.
• Report directly to the IT Security Manager and play a major role in the growth of the company.
• Assist the IT Security Manager with developing IT and security policies and procedures to enable all aspects of the business.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in system and network administration, including managing servers, virtual machines, and network infrastructure.
• Microsoft Environment Expertise: Proficiency in Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems.
• Familiarity with Apple macOS and Linux operating systems, with the ability to manage and support multi-platform environments.
• Experience in PowerShell scripting and other programming languages to automate administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
• Hands-on experience supporting physical, virtual, and cloud-based networking infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in IT, networking, or security (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are highly valued.
• Experience with or willingness to learn:
• Certification programs such as FedRAMP, SOC-2, and similar
• US export regulations
• Cloud-based servers and solutions and their security strengths and weaknesses

Compensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, and disability insurance, and potential stock options.

Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $85,000 to $95,000 annually. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
