This is an ICDM (Individual Contributor Duty Manager) role within CMC BART team. In line with Division objectives and under instructions of a manager, to provide and co-ordinate technical activities for moderate to highly complex systems/databases/applications for internal or external customers ensuring reliability requirements ranging from high to mission critical. To provide leadership for small or medium sized teams. Participate and lead project activities as CMC representative to ensure Ops readiness for new product or functionality. Be a member of critical Duty Management function within Operations. Bring in your automation expertise to identify and implement automation in Ops environment.
What to expect
In this role you will:
Resolve complex problems, provide technical oversight to problem and incident management, provide Input or own Critical Problem Reports, prep for Postmortem, identify/work on action items for improvement (with Squads)
Provide input to weekend Planning in co-ordination with Deployment Coordination and Squads
Organize periodic reviews (quarterly) of the Recovery Matrix to ensure their accuracy
Identify and conduct situational exercises / boot camps
Prep and facilitate Case Review meeting, conduct case review meeting and ensure appropriate case follow up and resolution
Own and drive ORT identification. planning and co-ordination with Central Planning team for execution, to ensure team readiness for new product or functionality.
Identify tool improvements to enhance and improve operations, liaise with Tools team to implement changes
Attend Key forums and represent Critical Mission Control (CMC) (e.g. Solutions presentation, design review)
Manage SLA interaction with peer tribe/squad
Undertake complex projects requiring specialized technical knowledge and ensure Ops readiness by providing requirements, support testing/deployments, drive Operational Readiness Testing and ensure team readiness
Work with CMC Deployment Coordinator as Point of Contact for important projects that cross CMC team boundaries
Member of L3 Duty Manager group
Member of CMC BART management team
Training and Development of junior CMC staff to achieve service certifications for the team
Understand and support SRE way of working and contribute to Ops of the Future program
May identify areas for automation and evaluate effectiveness and appropriateness of solutions.
Support local team with schedule management, skills development, work allocation and such aspects
What will make you successful?
We are seeking professionals with:
Bachelor's Degree in IT / Engineering
6-10 years of experience in application support or similar position
Good communication skills and ability to lead technical activities
Knowledge of SRE way of working is beneficial
Scripting or automation experience is beneficial
Knowledge of SWIFT services will be a plus
The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is 90,580.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to 168,220.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
