Microsoft's Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) organization is responsible for the construction and management of the data center infrastructure underlying this growth. Microsoft has committed to become Carbon Negative, Water Positive, and Zero Waste by 2030, and is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support and execute the CO+I organization's strategy on Services Supply Chain sustainability.

In support of Microsoft's Carbon Negative commitment, this role will be accountable to execute strategy to reduce fleetwide CO+I services supply chain emissions across multiple workstreams and peer functions. As a Senior Sustainability Program Manager

  • Services Supply Chain, you will need to build partnerships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and account managers across the organization and within Corporate Procurement to help execute the roadmap and report collectively on progress to senior leadership within CO+I. In addition, this role will be responsible for partnering across measurement, quantification, and analysis of Scope 3 services supply chain emissions sources, including accounting methodologies used and improvements recommended.
  • This role is located either in one or all hub locations
  • Atlanta, GA, Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates are required to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 3+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area

  • OR 5+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area.

  • 3+ Years experience working in supply chain or procurement in a technical environment.

  • 3+ Years experience working on supplier decarbonization at a large ($10B+ revenue) corporation.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, corporate affairs, or related area.In-house counsel experience
  • 3+ years experience managing a corporate social responsibility or related program.
  • 3+ years experience working in or with a large, matrixed organization.

Corporate Social Responsibility IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.

  • Work across CO+I and the broader organization in managing and mitigating services supply chain emissions

  • Assess and coordinate existing workstreams impacting CO+I services supply chain emissions (MSFT-wide) and quantify impact to forecast, highlighting any gaps to target including via scenario modeling.

  • Work closely with account managers (in CO+I as well as other organizations, such as Procurement) to drive actionable decarbonization strategies implementable by account managers.

  • Partner on measurement, quantification, and analysis of services supply chain emissions sources, including management of accounting methodologies and recommendations to improve as deemed necessary.

  • Track progress towards CO+I services supply chain emissions in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and provide monthly updates for report-outs to senior leadership.

  • Support development of workstream-specific emissions reduction targets in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs).

  • Partner with SME teams to research additional reduction opportunities. Quantify potential emissions impact and recommend high potential opportunities for further investigation and possible pilot testing.
