Position: Senior Survey CAD Technician

S&ME, Inc., a leading design, engineering, environmental and multi-disciplined professional services firm that responds to their clients with innovative, sustainable solutions, is seeking a full-time Senior Survey CAD Technician for our Orlando, Florida location. The selected candidate will join a successful, busy office of engineers, planners, and landscape architects in support of public and private sector projects throughout Florida and surrounding states.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will work with professional staff engaged in various duties including processing field data, trouble shooting field data, performing deed and utility research, running traverse closures, reducing level notes, finalize survey drawings, and performing work with field crew. The position requires good basic math skills related to surveying, good verbal and written communication skills and the motivation to follow instructions completely and accurately while working in rough terrain and inclement weather. Essential functions and responsibilities include:

  • Read and interpret survey maps, construction plans and utility plans;

  • Perform QA/QC checks on work performed;

  • Compute, process, and map field data in an organized manner;

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with other members to facilitate the timely and accurate completion of assigned projects;

  • Observe all safety guidelines and procedures, particularly when working around traffic or on active construction sites.

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma/GED diploma required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in land surveying, GIS, engineering, or related field preferred;

  • 5-10 years' experience working in land surveying required;

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson Survey software experience required;

  • State residency and land surveying experience preferred;

  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to work extended hours, including Saturdays and ability to travel out of town for extended periods of time;

  • Candidates should be able to handle extremes of outdoor work conditions in all seasons;

  • Must be familiar with the basic types of land surveying and terminology, and be knowledgeable about the field duties;

  • Stand, walk, use hands, tools, controls, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as well as lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference Check program. NITTY GRITTY DETAILS: * Delivers an unparalleled Guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games in an ideal environment for celebrating all out fun. * Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action. * Provides timely and accurate service while managing wait times and communicating information as needed to Guests, Team Members, and Managers. * Greets Guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while performing multiple job functions. Smiles and greets Guests upon entering Midway. * Ensures the setup, maintenance and repair of all amusement equipment as directed by management. * Assists in maintaining the game repair and preventative maintenance tracking, and assists in the recognition and acquisition of needed games parts. * Assists management and co‐workers with block training. * Verifies the completion of all Midway punch lists and Tuesday Test Drive issues list. * Completes any needed component level board repairs to the limits of repair or test equipment available. * Rebuilds all major game sub‐assemblies and organizes the tracking of same. * Organizes, maintains, and inventories all test equipment and major tools. * Assists the Guest with all requests and answers questions as needed and makes recommendations. * Bids farewell to Guests leaving. Ensures everything was satisfactory and invites Guests to return. * Notifies Manager of any Guest that is perceived to be unhappy. * Checks for restocking of necessary supplies. Brings all areas up to standard. * Reviews the cleanliness and organization of the Midway games. * Efficiently and safely performs daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly game maintenance. * Assists with general store maintenance as directed by Management. * Assists other team members as needed. * Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company team members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum team member morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness. * Must be friendly and able to smile a lot while working days, nights, and/or weekends as required. * Technical and/or electrical skills preferred, but not required. * Must demonstrate ability to clearly communicate with Guests and other team members.
