As the Senior Support Manager based in Long Beach, CA, you will lead a team of Tour Coordinator Support Managers. You'll be responsible for the growth and development of your team, driving efficiency, and acting as an escalation point for issues, resolving them as they arise. You will report to the Director of Operations and collaborate with Market Managers to ensure we're providing consistent, top-notch customer service to our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for communicating changes to forms and policies. You'll rally the team, keep morale high and manage the performance and production of your direct reports to ensure our support staff teams are operating smoothly. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in a customer service environment with direct experience in managing customer service professionals.

This position is currently 100% remote. In office work will resume at a later date, yet to be determined. Upon returning to the office, we expect the Senior Support Manager to be based out of our Long Beach office.

Responsibilities

  • Build a world-class service team with a "we'll take care of that for you" culture that is dedicated to providing Redfin's agents the information and support they need to help Redfin's customers smoothly navigate the largest transaction of their lives.

  • Define and implement clear communication and escalation protocols that ensure Field Operations Leaders are consistently updated on Support Operations performance, readiness and any operational issues that may impact the Field.

  • Contribute to the development of overall standards and communication strategy in order to drive necessary change throughout the support organization.

  • Work closely with the Director of Support to forecast and manage capacity and the budget for your region.

  • Attract, develop and retain talent. Build your pipeline, coach and develop your team to ensure strong management capability, guidance and expertise. Your support management team will depend on you for leadership.

  • Work closely with senior management and other peers for strategy development and execution planning

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales or Real Estate experience required

  • 2+ years in a management role leading and motivating teams to drive results preferred

  • 2+ years experience in the customer service or customer support function or equivalent Redfin experience

  • Real Estate License required within six months of hire

  • Expertise in Lean principles, Six Sigma or other operational excellence methodologies is preferred

  • Experience managing P&L preferred

  • Program Management experience preferred

  • Must be able to lead remotely

  • Travel as needed

In addition, you will continue to maintain your expertise in customer service and Redfin's mission & values. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience managing customer service professionals in a customer service environment (Retail, Call Center, etc.) This position is currently 100% remote. In office work will resume at a later date, yet to be determined. Upon returning to the office, we expect the Support Manager to be based out of our Long Beach office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Manage a team of support staff which could include, but is not limited to the following: * Provide customer service coaching and business expertise as needed * Responsible for onboarding and training new team members and determine when the employee is ready to begin their workload * Perform regular meetings with individuals and team; shadow team members on the job to ensure best practices are being used, provide real-time troubleshooting for customer-related issues as needed * Manage team's performance by using data and metrics to spot trends, weaknesses and strengths among your team; combine data/metrics with what you learn shadowing your team to identify/address issues and best practices; reinforce and hold your teams accountable to Redfin's current service offering; identify performance issues, initiate and conduct performance improvement plans and reviews in conjunction with guidance from HR and Manager * Other duties as assigned. Internal: Frequent contact with Redfin employees including trainers, other department coordinators, managers, and local market leaders. External: Regular contact with customers, clients, and other vendors in the Real Estate industry. Supervision of Others: Has direct supervision of employees. Travel Required: Up to 10%. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: * Knowledge of Real Estate transactions preferred * Familiarity with technology including email, computers, and smartphones; not afraid to jump in and learn a new system, able to learn and adopt new technology practices * Excellent communication skills, written and oral * Ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of management, associates, industry peers, direct reports, and clients * Experience in leading and developing a team * Familiarity with using metrics and data to assess performance * Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time appropriately * Excellent problem-solving skills All Support Managers are required to maintain an active license and memberships with board and MLS affiliated with Redfin as required by your state. Work is normally performed in a climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment. No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying 20-pound objects such as files, documents, and computer print-outs.
