Job overview and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing support of various network platforms in a Network Operations level 3 Production Support team

  • Primary responsibilities will be Aruba wireless as well as other network hardware, operating systems, software, and systems, providing consultation and direct technical support in problem management, integration, and systems programming

  • Implement releases, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment

  • Ensure platform performance and availability meet design criteria and objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning

  • Duties will include system implementation, system maintenance/administration, troubleshooting, and diagnostics

  • Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions and prevent recurring problems

  • Analyze, design, and document platforms/systems to meet enterprise requirements

  • Consult with other business units (e.g. application groups, DBAs, middleware, etc.) to configure platforms for product installation and ongoing support

  • Understand technical/business requirements gathered from the business units

  • Coordinate activities with internal/external technology owners/service providers

  • Ensure platforms/systems conform to established enterprise/industry standards (systems management, security, operating systems, etc.) and reference models

  • Monitor, manage, and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved

  • Implement changes to platforms with minimal impact to the business by following enterprise standards and procedures

  • Install, customize, maintain, test, and troubleshoot operating systems and other systems software

  • Configure, install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot hardware systems

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience, education, or training

  • 3+ years applicable experience in the design/administration

  • Knowledge of multiple network systems like routers, switches, F5, and Aruba wireless

  • Communication Skills

  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level
