The Sr. Supply Planner will be responsible for supporting the global Supply Chain Management organization in the supply planning and inventory optimization of products and materials required to meet master production schedule and customer service fulfillment targets. The Sr. Supply Planner will be responsible for plans, purchases and schedules inbound flow of material in support of production plan and product demand. This person will support the S&OP process, collaborate with sourcing, manufacturing and quality teams to generate and lead initiatives that will improve fill rates, inventory goals, service measures and reduce the length of our supply chain. This opportunity is based out of Lake Mary, FL.

This position requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or business

  • 5-10 years' experience in supply chain

  • Demonstrated competency with cross-functional engagement and collaboration

  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills

  • Working knowledge of material planning principles

  • Proficient computer skills particularly Microsoft Office applications

How you will make a difference @ FARO:

  • Manage continuity of supply and inventory investments in accordance with department and company goals

  • Develop, implement and manage inventory planning methodologies for products in the assigned value chain

  • Execute material planning, buying, expediting, and optimization initiatives in support of assigned product lines

  • Support the development of supply chain management strategies to optimize supply chain investments, improve supply/demand processes, and deliver customer service requirements

  • Work directly with suppliers to obtain confirmation that all orders are set to ship at the appropriate time to meet committed due date. Resolve exceptions, update system appropriately and escalate as necessary

  • Determine appropriate order quantity and frequency, select appropriate vendor and place purchase orders for assigned product lines, ensuring fill rates and targeted inventory levels are achieved

  • Lead initiatives that will reduce supply chain lead times, improve fill rates and optimize inventory.

  • Own Supply Chain KPI's including inventory DOS and $'s, customer fill rate, MPS adherence, scrap

  • Simplify the ordering process. Identify opportunities for reduction in transaction costs. Collaborate with key stakeholders (procurement, IT, etc.) to achieve results.

  • Develop and enhance vendor's relationships through timely and effective communication.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

  • Maintain item planning data in SAP.

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and think 'outside the box'

  • S&OP monthly cycle schedule adherence

  • Establish and manage global inventory targets ($'s, DOS, turns, SLOB)

  • Manage customer service targets

  • Administer and monitor purchase orders with external suppliers
