The Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) group is an exciting and fast evolving group within Microsoft whose vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering cloud capacity differentiated at scale. CSCP supports over 200 online businesses including Bing, O365, OneDrive, Xbox and Windows Azure branded services.

Cloud Sourcing and Supply Chain (CSSC) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of IT hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. The role of Senior Supply Chain Program Manager will be responsible for driving cross-functional projects and business initiatives for Supply Chain Operations Team (SCOM) and across Cloud Sourcing & Supply Chain CSSC).

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience in supply chain, business consulting, program management, manufacturing or operations planning

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related technical degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years' consulting and/or information technologies in a supply chain supporting of hardware or software

  • MBA preferred

  • Experience in project or program management with proven track record of successfully setting up and executing supply chain operational processes

  • Experience in working with global and cross-functional internal and external teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in leading cross functional teams for supply chain operations

  • Cloud / high tech supply chain experience is a plus

In this role, you will be reporting to the Sr. Director of Azure Cloud Supply Chain Operations on assigned key projects and business initiatives. The primary focus will be on process improvements driving operational excellence as well as some operational assignments.

  • Drive cross-functional process improvements with key stakeholders

  • Drive projects and workstreams for assigned strategic initiatives

  • Represent SCOM leadership team in various forums and work with the teams on actions and deliverables

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering, and Suppliers to establish and ensure all requirements for fulfillment are met

  • Interface with demand planning, deployment, sourcing, logistics, data center operations and engineering to build processes, drive optimization, garner supply chain efficiencies and improve delivery performance

  • Lead key strategic initiatives for the organization along with a project team / cross functional team

  • Collection, synthesis, and communication of analytics and insights to drive strategies and decision making for executives

Manage relationships and escalations from both internal and external stakeholders. * Create and clearly communicate supply schedules, supply and demand schedules, priorities and status to multiple internal and external stakeholders. Analyze, communicate, and monitor the impacts of changes to the supply plan with operations team. * Execute strategic business objectives while working with key internal stakeholders to improve the supply chain with the latest internal and external information. * Manage overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability development, cost, and quality improvements. * Develop, communicate, and execute end-to-end product demand and supply plans to support all products. * Design, develop and maintain scalable and reliable analytical tools, dashboards, and metrics that drive key decisions and resource prioritization. * Work collaboratively with internal teams on sourcing strategy, market analysis, trade-off analysis reviews, and supplier roadmaps with engineers to support cost, quality, and delivery targets. * Work with a cross functional team to drive the supplier selection process and component qualification using engineering and commercial best practices/disciplines. * Negotiate costs with suppliers through use of projections, business/technical acumen, and competitive bidding. * Work closely with engineering to understand and define standard and custom component requirements, deliver accurate component costing, and capex projections. * Drive manufacturing operational readiness of suppliers, including planning long term forecasts, purchase order readiness, daily production plans, capacity plans, clear to builds (CTBs), etc. Anticipate and mitigate production and operational risks, including cost impacts. * Applies knowledge of commodities and commodity market trends and serves as an expert in influencing, leading and driving project implementation of supply chain strategies and development of short- and long-term goals for management consideration in support of customer requirements. * Up to 10% international travel may be required.
