Job Description:

Lockheed Martin Missile & Fire Control's (MFC) THAAD program is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for a position based in Grand Prairie, Texas. The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to support suppliers across the United States. Duties include:

Manage program critical supplier performance

Maintain and manage supplier Quality requirements for program critical supply chain

Creating actions plans for risk management and continuous improvement based off of data sources such as product source inspections, first articles, audits, and applicable company and industry standards

Providing innovative solutions to complex supply chain problems within the contractual, QMS, and other regulatory confines

Interface with customer and program management

Participate (as required) in supplier's failure / diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities

Ensure supplier contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis

Support Quality initiatives within a multifunctional team that includes Technical, Procurement, and Operations activities

Basic Qualifications

Technical Engineering Degree at the Bachelor level or above

Must have ability to obtain a security clearance

In depth knowledge and experience in Quality processes and procedures

Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Through understanding of engineering requirements

Thorough understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

Must be able to identify and document supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action

An understanding of engineering drawing requirements

Experience using mechanical and electrical inspection methods

Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements

Thorough understanding of special processes

An overall understanding of how to manage and interface with suppliers on a daily basis to support the Program

Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment

Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and to support all program supplier quality engineering activities

Effective communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports

Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Subcontracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives

Additionally, candidates may be required to work in a manufacturing environment that would require standing and the use the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (protective footwear, eye / hearing protection, or other protective equipment designed to protect people from work place hazards)
