Role Overview:
Collins Aerospace in Vergennes, Vermont has an exciting Supplier Quality Engineering opportunity for a results driven individual who enjoys working on a broad scope of activities to ensure quality and commitments are met, to improve the performance and efficiency of the supply-base for the Collins Vergennes production site, and be part of a close-knit cross-discipline IPT (Integrated Product Team).
This individual shall have an in-depth background in working with key subcontracts and sub-contract manufacturers with the ability to manage the suppliers within various commodities, with a main focus in the mechanical/ machining / wire harness / CCA commodity field.
Other focus areas for this position is to develop supplier partnerships to ensure quality, service, and cost requirements that meet the needs of the Raytheon Technologies and Collins Aerospace Operations, Program Management and Engineering teams.
The successful candidate should have an extensive background in processes and process surveys and thorough understanding of AS9100, AS9102, and ISO 9001.
Additionally, the individual should also have the knowledge in lean and lean techniques with an ability to work with suppliers on lean improvement activity with the supply base for both operational and quality improvement.
Must be willing to travel up to 35% both Domestic and International. Relocation eligible.
Primary Responsibilities:
Must be able to understand and interpret technical requirements, electronics, motors, machined components, and missile program flow-downs
Lead and Manage Manufacturing Process Review activities at suppliers
CAB - prepare and present quality data for suppliers to senior leadership and customer representatives
Disposition nonconformances associated with supplier material
Coordination with suppliers on Root Cause investigations and oversee the implementation and verification of Corrective Actions
Participate and represent Collins Supplier Quality in Failure Review Boards, Technical Interchange meetings, and other program reviews onsite or virtually as required
Serve as a key Supply Chain interface for NOC (notice of change) and supplier inquiry activity for the program
Coordinate and perform routine visits to key suppliers to validate corrective actions, perform Manufacturing Process Reviews, and Gemba walks when necessary
Strong interpersonal skills - able to influence others at all levels within an organization
Strong presentation skills - able to analyze and present data to all levels of leadership
Other requests as needed to ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001, Quality Management System (QMS) standards
Previous experience in conducting root cause analysis for moderate to complex nonconformities and implementation of effective corrective actions.
Previous experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Previous shop floor manufacturing experience or direct program support in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Supplier Management, Project Management and Change Management experience
Expertise in manufacturing Special Processes & related industry organizations (Nadcap)
Experience with continuous improvement, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, etc
Experience in conducting supplier process and compliance audits
AS9145, Six Sigma Green/Black belt, and/or CQE certifications
Working knowledge/familiarity IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 Soldering experience, GD&T tolerancing, and AS9138

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
