Job Purpose

The position of Facility & Dispatch Supervisor reports to the Director, Fleet & PPL Operations and in some instances will be required to report to the Director, Dispatch Operations. This position is responsible for the physical condition and performance of over the road Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tanker trailers, tractors, vaporizer units and all related equipment, and for monitoring their ability to perform safely and adequately, along with maintaining all required records.

This position will oversee all aspects of the shop area including supervision of the union mechanics. The position will require coverage of the Dispatch Supervisor position which entails developing schedules, booking drivers with appropriate equipment, handling customer service requests, analyzing drivers' daily trips and supervising union drivers. This is a shift position requiring rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

Key Accountabilities

Supervision, training, accountability and safe operation of portable pipeline service sites, shop operations, facility responsibilities and dispatch operations

Maintaining the safety and cryogenic integrity of the LNG trailer fleet

Maintenance and testing of all vaporizing equipment and hoses

Performing tanker tests and preparing inspection reports in compliance with DOT H.M.R. sec.180.407(h)(4),and 180.417(b) & (c)

Maintaining LNG fitting inventory

Response to emergency incidents involving LNG transports

Supervise the maintenance, repair and testing of all equipment in the Transgas fleet to assure safe and secure transportation of LNG

Maintain accurate and detailed records of repairs and testing of all equipment

Perform the purchasing and oversee the inventory and use of all parts used in maintenance and repair of all vehicles

Procurement of fuel

Oversee the facility grounds and building maintenance

Ensure customer satisfaction

Schedule loads

Assign drivers work on a daily basis

Assign units for cost effective utilization

Ensure accurate record keeping

Train, test and develop LNG employees to ensure staff have the required skills and knowledge to successfully operate CDL, LNG vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with regulations; ensure supervised team complies with safety standards, policies and processes in order to maintain a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff

Communicate maintenance, operating and training information as well as changes to procedures to others as necessary to ensure that records are compliant and accurate

Maintain compliance with relevant regulations by providing up to date information on Transgas and National Grid policies, processes and programs to regulatory bodies

Qualifications

3 + years experience in tank truck inspection and maintenance (preferred)

Diesel mechanical experience (preferred)

Superior leadership, supervisory, organizational and communication skills

Excellent technical skills; welding skills a plus.

CDL-A Commercial Driver's License with tanker and hazmat endorsement (must be obtained within first year)

Smith System Trainer (preferred)

Flammable Gas Fire Fighting certification

Cargo Tank Test, Inspection and Repair Facility interactive Workshop Certification (preferred)

Associates degree and/or college level courses in business or management

Essential Duty Position - Requirement of reporting to duty at any time in case of emergency or other situations deemed appropriate by a company officer

Trucking industry and/or LNG industry experience

10+ years experience in a supervisory management position

Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office

Must have experience managing a team with the ability to build effective, respectful, working relationships and resolve human resource issues

Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to apply these skills

Requires the ability to think from first principles and demonstrates ability to challenge operations processes and use knowledge or trends to look at current situations or problems

Ability to understand and identify training or developmental needs of staff

Be able to coach, motivate and be part of a team atmosphere

Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and prioritize workload

Position is subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing

Salary

$86,900 - $96,900 a year
