Senior Superintendent Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all construction activities. The Sr. Superintendent ensures that all field personnel are producing quality work, working on schedule, and working within budget. It is also the Sr. Superintendent’s responsibility to maintain a safe, clean, and well organized environment for employees, subcontractor employees, and any other job site visitors.

Project Management

  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities.
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
  • Create and maintain construction schedule.
  • Identify and take steps to avoid potential problems and solve existing problems.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Manage self-performed duties with laborers.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employers.
  • Prepare schedules and supervise the completion of a final punch list.
  • Any other task or duty assigned or required.

Safety

  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
  • Create site logistic plans and maintain an organized, clean job site, including the construction office.
  • Act as a credible and effective safety leader on the job site.
  • Promote safety compliant reporting and participation to all individuals on site.
  • Make safety a priority to crew and individuals by providing both positive feedback and implementing timely corrective action as appropriate.
  • Complete all safety training required. (OSHA 30, Safety Breakfasts, etc).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred, but not required.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in scheduling, ordering materials, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of construction.
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects.
  • Organized with a systematic approach to achieving accuracy and efficiency.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and others outside of the company to ensure the desired outcome.

We focus on the perks that aren’t trendy, but really add value – standup desks, lunch-and-learns, company retreats, and donation-matching.<br /> <br /> <strong>Mechanical Estimator</strong>  <strong>Summary: </strong></p> <p>The Mechanical Estimator estimates a wide range of plumbing including below grade waste & vent, below grade process piping, storm drains and natural gas, process piping systems, HVAC wet and dry, Fire Sprinkler, Schematic budgeting, Design Development budgeting and estimating. Coordination of the all the above as well as respective subcontractors, Design Engineers and Owners.<br /> <br /> <strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide budget estimates of the mechanical systems (take-off and pricing) listed above for major projects using computerized estimate program or historic information.</li> <li>Review mechanical, electrical and architectural drawings and specifications during schematic design, design development and through final construction document.</li> <li>Provide and submit alternates and cost savings ideas to the proposed mechanical systems as listed above in the summary.</li> <li>Prepare final interim and final estimates with detailed take-off and pricing of all piping, ductwork and equipment.</li> <li>Prepare and select the appropriate mechanical bidders list for the various bid packages.</li> <li>Draft and write bid documents for the all the mechanical bid packages and coordinate the scopes of the various systems with the respective subcontractors and the preconstruction project team.</li> <li>Review mechanical bids in details for scope delineation and issue work authorization to proceed to the successful bidder.</li> <li>Prepare documents for pre-purchasing various mechanical equipment with deliveries which conflict with the project schedule.</li> <li>Review field change orders for quantities, material take-off and compliance with current material pricing, current labor rates, and contract mark ups.</li> <li>Maintain a current mechanical subcontractor list for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. </li> <li>Prepare and maintain projects historic costs and data for budgeting and references.</li> <li>Provide training to Project Engineers for the mechanical systems. </li> <li>Other responsibilities include: Being proactive in solving problems for the mechanical systems, Providing input for the project schedule regarding the mechanical systems and coordinate the scope of work with the Superintendents and Project Managers, Reviewing the mechanical systems and propose alternates for Owner review and acceptance.</li> </ul> <p>.<br />  <br /> <strong>QUALIFICATIONS </strong></p> <ul> <li>College graduate or 3-6 years’ experience in estimating for all mechanical systems. </li> <li>MEP Cost Engineer or Sr. Cost Engineer wanting to train to be a Mechanical Estimator is acceptable.</li> <li>Must have a great work ethic and be willing to learn the procedures in the preconstructions department.</li> <li>Must have an understanding of how to be a team player.</li> <li>Estimating experience for all mechanical systems, work experience with a mechanical engineering firm and or work experience with a design/build mechanical contractor.  </li> </ul> Pros In Construction San Francisco CA
