Job Title: Sr. Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer to lead and oversee structural analysis and design projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing structural elements, leading engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards. This role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, developing project plans, schedules, and budgets, and coordinating with various engineering disciplines and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and review structural analysis and design using software tools and hand calculations.
• Design structural elements such as beams, columns, retaining walls, foundations, and connections.
• Lead a team of engineers and drafters to complete structural design tasks of moderate complexity.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop plans, specifications, and other project documents.
• Manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, construction teams, and project stakeholders.
• Respond to construction-related issues and provide solutions in real-time.
• Lead a team to conduct structural inspections and assessments.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.
• Lead the preparation and presentation of technical reports and documentation to clients.
• Ensure the quality of structural engineering deliverables.
• Review and check designs, calculations, and drawings produced by junior engineers.
• Provide input in the development of proposals.

Essential Skills

• Professional Engineer (PE) in New Jersey or New York.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• High level of detailing and designing with CAD.
• Experience with NJDOT, NJTA, and NJ Turnpike projects.
• 1-2 years of project management experience.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as CSiBridge, LARS Bridge, Midas Civil, and STAAD.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with state agencies preferred.

Work Environment

The position is based out of the Edison, NJ office with a hybrid work schedule (2 days in office, 3 days working from home). In-office days are usually Tuesday and Thursday. You will work in a highly collaborative Structural Team alongside Environmental, Civil, Survey, and Transportation teams. Employees receive a laptop for work, and travel to the city/mileage is reimbursed. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
