Job Description:

The Boeing Commercial Airplane International Strategy and Business Development team is seeking a talented, self-motivated, and experienced Senior Strategy Development Specialist.

Boeing's goal is to achieve $200B revenue by 2025. Growing profitability requires growth of the core business and beyond. One component of this growth will be realized through all three business units' ability to work as One Boeing to develop international growth strategies and then translate those strategies to action.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies for international presence as a means to open and expand markets as well as capture additional sources of best cost and capability

  • Work alongside the rest of the strategy and development team to research and synthesize market and competitive intelligence and then create and align commercial strategies reflective of local market sensitivities

  • Obtain insights into local political and customer trends; local capability and investment focus; and need and opportunities for new business model creation or existing model adjustments

  • Use insights to develop international growth strategies and be able to effectively communicate these strategies into action

  • Effectively collaborate and manage both internal and external relationships at all levels across the industry

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience: Technical bachelor's degree and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally

  • 3+ years experience with international business development

  • 3+ years experience performing strategy work (e.g. market or competitive research and analysis, strategy development, and facilitating strategic decisions)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to speak a foreign language

  • Previous experience working with airlines, suppliers, and/or governments

  • Strong international acumen and experience working with diverse people and teams

  • Experience with negotiating

Manages relationships with vendors and other carriers that provide coverage or services that support or supplement product offerings. Applies lean principles to product development and management activities to problem solve, address market opportunities, resolve internal process issues, and improve customer experience and value relating to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington products and services. May supervise or train staff. Essential Responsibilities: Leads teams of departmental resources and key cross-functional stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor all activity affecting a product category and/or line of business. Develops metrics, reporting, and insights that drive team to implement needed changes that address performance, opportunities, and issues. Communicates teams' recommendations to senior leaders for review and approval in concert with business strategies Serves as an evangelist for products, services, and LOBs. Represents the product/service/LOB internally with leadership and serves as the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington expert to represent products with key clients or producers. Develops and communicates the product value proposition and our unique selling position. Leads training of internal and external stakeholders and assures that materials/communications accurately reflect features and value proposition. Coordinates activities of product or project-specific cross-functional work teams; serves as liaison between product management and all levels of staff to assure ongoing effective administration of products. Manages vendor relationships associated with features or supplemental products (e.g. CDHP administrators, carriers of private labeled insurance lines.) Provides consulting expertise to managers throughout the company on product features and manages implementation of enhancements as needed. Leads team to stay abreast of industry trends, developments and regulatory changes and mandates related to product features. Leads development of proposals for new and innovative product/service concepts to accomplish corporate or LOB goals, address market opportunities or issues in order to support review by senior management and prioritizization against other resource demands. Works with lean consultant resources and key operational leaders in support of strategic improvement activities as they translate into the value stream and functional areas. Functions as an interface across divisional and district lines to facilitate coordinated product strategies. Partners with Lean consultants in the development, stabilization and improvement of departmental processes and standard tools. May include supervision of product specialist. Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum three (3) years of experience in new product development or business management. Previous project management or product administration experience. Education Bachelor's degree in business/ health care admin, or related field required OR a minimum four (4) years of experience in a directly related field. High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) is required. License, Certification, Registration N/A Additional Requirements: Advanced critical thinking.
