General Summary

With limited guidance, is responsible conducting research and analyses to support the development of plans to drive strategic and transformational initiatives across the organization and assists in the development of business strategies in support of the CEO and Executive Team to improve company profit, enterprise value, and competitive position.

Essential Functions

Support the development of enterprise, pillar, and line of business (LOB) strategies; aligned to a specific pillar and the related LOBs

Support and drive the development of longer-term strategic and business plans, and participates in the annual operational planning process

Accountable for ensuring adherence to Board delivery timelines, including coordination and preparation of content for Board of Directors and Committee meetings, as necessary

Access, understand, and develop insights on the vision care industry (including insurance and materials businesses), the broader healthcare and retail industries, technology, and adjacent trends globally

Remain cognizant of the changing environment, and continually working at and defining strategy to ensure it is fit for purpose

Collaborate with business leaders to identify and define strategic initiatives that will have overarching impact by developing creative, yet pragmatic solutions

Develop analytical frameworks, approach and methodology best practices to analyze strategy issues

Working with internal data and analytics team, develops and maintains key qualitative and quantitative metrics to measure progress against enterprise strategic goals and success of related strategic initiatives

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelors degree in business administration, marketing, statistics or related field

Twelve years of experience, in research, data analytics, market analysis, competitive intelligence, consulting or strategic planning

Working knowledge and experience in the vision, healthcare or insurance industry

Proven success operating effectively within a global culture and matrixed environment

Strong analytical skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on simplicity of messaging

Highly proficient in Power Point

Ability to use logic and think through future implications

Proven ability and willingness to work through details and execute

Personal and professional integrity with the ability to preserve confidentiality

Self-assured, but with a highly collaborative mindset

Desire to dig in to all areas of the business to help identify opportunities and outline solutions, metrics, etc. to move the business forward

Possess energy and enthusiasm for new ideas

Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment the in performance of his/her job duties

Position is salaried, full-time with highly desirable working hours (Monday to Friday, with evening hours from 5-8 PM required 2 evenings per week, no weekends, no holidays) on-site at our Atlanta office: 2100 River Edge Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30328 (note: there is no potential for telecommuting, due to client contractual needs). The Pharmacist will interact telephonically with patients on a wide variety of medication-related topics, including (but not limited to) adherence, dosing, duplications, formulary concerns (cost/coverage), interactions, ineffective or inappropriate medications, and untreated conditions. They will also address questions on these topics from internal colleagues, such as nurse case managers and medical directors. Throughout the year there are opportunities to create educational presentations for nurse case managers and medical directors. The Pharmacist may also engage the patient's prescriber to discuss potential medication-related gaps in care. The successful candidate will have strong clinical experience, including providing both patients and healthcare professionals with evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations/education for medical conditions including, but not limited to, diabetes, coronary artery disease, heart failure, asthma and COPD. In working to address complex medication-related concerns, the successful candidate must build relationships with a wide variety of internal colleagues across the business. The ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt to changes in daily workflow is required. Required Qualifications * Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in Atlanta, Georgia * Ability to acquire Pharmacist license in Kansas within 6 months of employment start * Minimum of 3 years of experience as licensed Pharmacist * Minimum of 1 year of clinical pharmacy practice experience with direct patient interaction * Strong clinical foundation: experience providing clinical pharmacy services * Highly motivated and works with minimal guidance * Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English * Strong computer skills: functional competency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint * Ability to work full-time onsite at our Atlanta (2100 Riveredge Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30328) Preferred Qualifications: * Board Certification (BCPS or BCACP) * Health Plan (Managed Care) or hospital or long-term care experience UnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
