Job Summary

The Senior Strategy Analyst is part of the Corporate Strategy team and has responsibilities in four major areas: strategy review, commercial assistance, market analysis and thought leadership.


Strategy Review Process

  • Participate in and/or lead projects to research and analyze Surescripts' competitive landscape:

  • Market and industry analysis and creation of strategy frameworks

  • Financial statement analysis and economic modeling of publicly traded industry constituents

  • Develop pricing models and model microeconomic scenarios based on price elasticity and other considerations

  • Screen and vet candidate companies that may be valuable strategic partners for Surescripts

  • Understand how Network participant business models and how they inform customer business decisions

  • Lead a disciplined annual process with the Executive Team to review Surescripts' operating environment, competitive landscape, and current capabilities

  • Develop and communicate the company's Strategy to the Board of Directors, Executive Team and employees.

Commercial assistance

  • Lead various internal and external facing engagements

  • Work with business owners to identify root causes of issues and propose rehabilitation strategies for under-performing products or services

  • Engage with customers to investigate the impact of services on their business operations

Market and competitive monitoring and analysis

  • Research and deeply understand healthcare and health IT industry dynamics and the relevance to Surescripts and its constituents

  • Conduct internal SWOT assessments

  • Leverage scenario analyses to develop competitive positioning assessments

  • Lead long term corporate planning and growth strategy

  • Provide periodic reporting, analysis and insight on company-specific and market trends to the executive team to inform day-to-day operations, customer engagement and product investments.

  • Analyzing new markets and identifying entry options, including how to engage strategic partners.

  • Track publicly-traded companies and industry news, identify material events for Surescripts and summarize findings and implications for Surescripts and its segments for Executive Team and company-wide distribution

Thought leadership

  • Participate in industry events, follow industry developments and articulate opportunities and threats to Surescripts and its stakeholders

  • Work with the Strategy team to provide guidance to Surescripts executives on industry engagements and strategy

  • Collaborate with internal Product Innovation, Customer, Finance, Regulatory and Legal teams to monitor emerging trends, threats, and technology shifts and provide assessment to CEO and executive team


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in related, progressive roles
  • 3 + years of experience working on large complex projects
  • 2 + years of experience of financial, economic, operational or market analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred

  • Corporate Strategy experience

  • Excel modeling skills

  • PowerPoint experience and the ability to present

  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the company

  • Comfort in working on projects of varying scope and depth, from executing on CEO short notice requests to conducting long term research projects

As a Senior Strategy Analyst, you will provide analysis and recommendations to the marketing team, business development team and Sr. Leaders in Interventional Urology. Major Areas of Accountability * Develop quarterly global market model report on market size and growth for all product lines of IU * Track competitive landscape and market dynamics * Interpret and drive actions from analytics * Support the evaluation and diligence of M&A and strategic investment opportunities through revenue forecast, competitive analysis, and valuation analysis * Assist with strategic analysis around expanding into new markets and launching new business lines * Collaborate and drive annual marketing strategic planning process * Provide data-driven marketing performance analysis. Translate insights and outcomes into success metrics to support ROI investment decisions for strategic and tactical planning purposes * Provide business case modeling support on new product development projects * Additional responsibilities as needed.
