The Senior Strategist for the Hum business works at the in-house agency and is responsible for the strategic leadership on Hum,a vehicle diagnostic and tracking system from Verizon.The Senior Strategist will generate the overall communication approach and shape the creative for Hum using fact-based decision making.They will partner with internal and external teams and work with CMI (Verizon's in-house research and insights teams) to plan, design and conduct research and build a process to continuously improve the effectiveness of our creative solutions.The Senior Strategist will acquire and share deep knowledge of the industry, including the telematics landscape, category disrupters and key business issues that affect Verizon.They will supervise a data analyst and be responsible for producing frameworks and a POV that drives high-level decisions and recommendations. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, our ideal candidate has a collaborative, friendly personality and is able to build strong relationships with both internal and client teams.
Develop strategies that resolve complex problems using data analysis and creativity.
Form strong working bonds with internal clients to become their trusted strategic partner.
Bring strategic thought leadership to marketing and brand challenges.
Craft creative briefs that synthesize Hum brand understanding with consumer insights.
Facilitate team brainstorms to stimulate unexpected ideas and initiatives.
Collaborate with creative teams to refine executions.
Work with CMI on approaches to uncovering the answers to the challenges.
Cultivate solid relationships with 140 colleagues, external partners and Verizon clients.
Works with the 140 Director of Planning to leverage enterprise view and opportunities.
What we're looking for...
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
You'll need to have:
A four-year College Degree.
8+ years of experience in agency and/or client side creative strategy or brand planning roles.
Previous roles can be: Planner / Senior Planner, Digital Strategist, Consumer Engagement, Communications Planner.
Ideally, you'll have:
Unquenchable curiosity about people and brand behavior.
Able to accomplish work independently with minimal guidance.
Comprehensive knowledge of digital and social channels/platforms as well as "what's next".
Ability to organize and work with complex information and data.
Exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills.
Flexibility, patience, empathy and a sense of humor.
Ability to formulate smart POVs on industry related topics and socialize them.
Creative Brief and Strategic Framework Development.
Able to deliver the message clearly and concisely, a strong story teller.
Shows confidence in front of an audience; ability to be the 'center of the room'.
Experience building learning plans for both quantitative and qualitative research initiatives.
Working knowledge of common planning tools (e.g., Mintel, Iconoculture, etc.).
Manages daily priorities and proactively identifies future opportunities for the brand/business.
Demonstrated curiosity for trends watching.
Sound business and professional ethics.
Client-side experience not mandatory but will be a plus.
