SENIOR STRATEGIC PLANNER (USARCENT-19-1709-W):
Bowhead seeks a Senior Strategic Planner to join our team in support of the USARCENT mission. The Senior Strategic Planner will analyze DoD and Department of the Army (DA) guidance, directives, and Plans to assist with developing, presenting, and executing supporting Plans.
Essential functions will include:
Assisting with forecasting long-term resource requirements in support of the USARCENT Campaign Plan and long-term operational strategy.
Synchronizing various planning functions within the USARCENT G-5 Strategic Plans and Policy, and coordinating with all affected staff organizations and subordinate unit commands.
Maintaining situational and operational awareness in order to provide recommendations and technical expertise in the development of future Plans and policy related efforts.
Attending and monitoring various battle rhythm meetings and briefs to inform and support planning efforts.
Assisting with developing and updating Level I (Commander's Estimate) thru Level IV OPLANs.
Reviewing plans to ensure they are comprehensive and are in compliance with directives and guidance from HQDA, USCENTCOM, and the Commander of USARCENT in achieving operational objectives, and provide recommendations for updates.
Coordinating with USCENTCOM and component plans directorates to help ensure plans are nested with the planning efforts of higher and adjacent headquarters within the USCENTCOM area of operations.
Reviewing current situations, assess national and theater strategies, and reviewing national and international security considerations for the CENTCOM AOR from an ASCC perspective to provide analysis and recommendations for theater posturing.
Assisting the Plans Branch in developing staff estimates and courses of action for OPLANs and policy that support the geographic Combatant Commander's theater strategy, campaign plans, OPLANs and OPORDs.
Assisting the Plans Branch in developing OPLANs for mobilization and deployment.
Reviewing and providing analysis, comments, and summation of the Unified Command Plan, Contingency Planning Guidance, and Defense Planning Guidance and the Joint Service Capabilities Plan (JSCP).
Participating and collaborating in joint operations planning to develop campaign plans, OPLANs, and OPORDs for the Geographic Commander.
Assisting with developing ASCC support OPLANs and CONPLANs.
Combining plans of other staff elements into a single integrated planning document that will be staffed for review and approval.
Coordinating ASCC plans with higher and adjacent commands.
Reviewing higher headquarters policies and publications for impact on campaigns or major operations.

Requirements A Bachelor's degree in addition to minimum of two years of experience with the MDMP; a minimum of five years of combined experience in operational and strategic level planning, with a minimum of two years of experience within the USCENTCOM AOR managing, planning, programming, supervising, and executing Plans at the theater army level along all warfighting functions is required
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Professional Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret/SCI clearance at this location.
