Hulu's Business Development and Operations team is seeking a(n) Strategic Partnerships Manager who will be an exceptional addition to our Business Development and Partnerships team. You will be a part of a small team owning strategy and deals for Hulu's platform and wireless partners; guide/support deal process across partnership tiers; support strategic partners team in overall deals process and communications (internal and external). The right person for this role is a strong negotiator and communicator and is able to work with tech platforms, cable and wireless players, and emerging new technology players as well as internal departments including the broader Business Development team, Marketing, Product, Technology, Finance and Legal to build consensus around mutually beneficial opportunities. Finally, she/he thinks big, learns quickly, and approaches everything with enthusiasm.


  • Develop overall strategic framing and planning for potential wireless partnerships (including positioning for 5G)

  • Maintains a cross functional view of all touch points between partner and Hulu and directs operational engagements based on strategic framework

  • Identify and prioritize of company-wide requirements to support key partners

  • Build and deliver key presentations to senior leadership within Hulu and at external partners

  • Actively develop Hulu's strategy and nurture relationship with potential partners

  • Drive deal negotiation and renewal, working closely with Marketing, Partnership Engagement, Content, Legal, Product and other relevant business units

  • Together with Director of Strategic Partnerships, serve as main point of contact during partnership deal negotiations

  • Support Director in setting agenda for Monthly and Quarterly Business Review for Strategic Partners Council and ensuring follow-ups on key action items

  • Guide team in deal structuring and negotiation as needed across partnership tiers/categories


  • Bachelor's degree 4+ years overall experience, with 3+ years of relationship management with a media/technology focus

  • Real passion for entertainment, TV and technology with a deep knowledge of the evolution of the digital/media industries

  • Strong partner engagement skills with the ability to develop relationships, and magnify existing partner channels

  • Ability to prioritize, identify problems, quickly devise feasible solution options, disseminate the appropriate information to relevant partners and ultimately bring about timely resolution

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to tailor messages for both business and technical audiences; comfort in addressing informal team meetings and delivering prepared presentations to executives/external audience

  • sExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams on technical projects, specifically in translating business objectives/priorities for product management and engineering colleagues

  • Knowledge of and experience with living room devices is helpful (but not required)

  • Willingness to travel (10-15%)

UMG's Central Brand Partnerships team is looking for a dynamic Manager to cultivate client relationships and bring partner programs to life. The ideal candidate is highly detailed, pro-active, has a knack for problem solving and a "can do" attitude. Experience in event production/experiential activations is a crucial asset for all candidates. Passion for music, entrepreneurial spirit, polished professional demeanor, and the ability to keep calm under pressure are essential. Job Functions: Responsibilities will include, but is not limited to: * Partner Program management * Help architect execution of partner programs from live events, content production and hospitality * Collaborate with teams across UMG to plan and produce all the elements of the program * Work with all UMG labels on artist conversations * Work with the content team to build a creative content plan and budget * Work with legal to draft contracts and handle the conversations correspondence until signature * Work with UMG PR on all press releases and approvals * Track all elements of the program and manage timeline to ensure everything runs smoothly * Coordinate music licensing for any content pieces and livestreams * Handle all third-party invoices and artist payments related to the program * Create detailed post analysis reports of partner program * Manage all elements of concert production, including: * Hiring local production companies to bring in staging, lighting, audio/PA, backline, and appropriate crew * Ability to read a backline list and know when it's simple vs. extensive * Work with event locations on necessary insurance, permits, and any other rules/laws related to the show * Build ROS/load in/load out schedule * Manage the crew and artist teams on the day of the show and ensure everyone stays on schedule * Handle any last minute on-site needs to ensure smooth event activation * Manage any creative agencies working on the project/program * Manage any necessary activation elements (non-performance related), including: * Printing collateral (posters, pop up banners, menus) Job Requirements: Skills/Abilities: * Must be incredibly resourceful and able to find solutions for all problems (including those that haven't happened yet) * Excellent communication skills with all levels of executives, brand clients, and artist teams - in person, on the phone and in writing * Ability to handle multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and bring programs in under budget * Self-starter, will take initiative with new projects * Professional demeanor and attitude even when under a lot of stress * Ability to operate in a highly collaborative manner and work well under pressure * Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (Photoshop skills would be a major plus) Experience: * 2+ years project/account management experience * Event production experience * Activation agency experience a plus * Passion for music & brands * Understanding of the agency, brand and entertainment landscape Education: * College degree Universal Music Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
