As a Senior Strategic Marketing Director, you are responsible for driving the long term strategy of our marketing team in conjunction with other marketing leaders and cross-functional partners. You understand emerging market trends and develop cost-efficient customer acquisition and retention strategies across channels. You work with the rest of the marketing team and other internal stakeholders. You understand variances in performance and are able to develop corrective solutions. You are accountable for the longer term results of the marketing function at The RealReal.

What You Get To Do Every Day

  • Contribute to the development of short-and long-term vision and strategic plans for customer acquisition and retention

  • Understand product usage and customer and financial data to develop a cohesive customer by cohorts and customer archetypes

  • Generate insights from internal analytics and financial models and research of commercial and technology development within the industry

  • Research, coordinate, and prepare operational updates and business plans that support the business strategy and objectives.

  • Lead components of annual operating budget plans including outlining key components of strategic initiatives, researching alternatives, developing estimates, and coordinating inputs from functional areas

  • Develop and share knowledge on marketing strategy, future channels and tactics across TRR to ensure organizations are aligned to long term plans.

  • Build relationships across the business to drive commitment and implement innovation and transformation activities related to marketing strategy. Work closely with product, engineering, sales and merchandising teams on longer term customer acquisition and retention plans

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in strategy, marketing and analytics or some combination thereof

  • 2+ years of experience in financial modeling, planning and forecasting

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in analyzing raw data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations

  • Highly collaborative with strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience and knowledge in technology enabled services and software businesses is highly preferred.

  • Experience in management consulting and retail companies

  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages and visualization tools (e.g. SQL, Looker)

  • Agency experience

The expected salary range for this role is $203,375.00 - $228,796.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate's skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR's total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
