Hewlett Packard Enterprise Storage is ramping up to support Data Storage - one of the fastest growing industry segments. Today, HPE has innovative and vital Data Storage products including HPE Storage Networking. The HPE Storage Team is targeting this critical segment by investing in and expanding our IP and products for the future.

At the HPE R&D Storage Networking team in Andover, MA, we are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team and deliver SAN Management technologies and automation.

Specifically, we are looking for highly technical, motivated and proactive technologist to own and drive software development around Storage Networking protocols.

Position Description: Senior Storage Networking

  • NVMe Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead software development in Agile/Scrum environment with short cycles

  • Experience with NVMe over RDMA protocol, flash/NAND technologies/interfaces, OS driver development is a huge plus for this role

  • Support the product roadmap and lead the future deliverables.

  • Support HPE internal cross-functional efforts, including joint work with SW Development, SQA, HPE partners and Customer Support

  • Communicate effectively with HPE business partners and influence the future storage networking technology design and SAN tools

  • Continuously improve development process resulting in continuous quality and predictability improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.d. or Master's degree in EE, CS, ME or equivalent, with several years of experience with NVME Technology

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Extensive R&D experience, including understanding of PCIe NVME technology, software design and implementation

  • Deep knowledge of storage technologies and applications

  • Proficiency in C/C++, Java, JSON, REST API, Web Socket and scripting languages such as Python/shell

  • Experience in web development framework, Jetty, PostgreSQL, NoSQL

  • Ability to influence suppliers and manage technical activities at suppliers.

  • Ability to critically assess drive designs

  • Working knowledge of PCIe, Fibre Channel and iSCSI

  • Able to think outside the box and discover innovative solutions for complex drive issues.

  • Comfortable working cross functionally with external vendors, manufacturing, hardware, software, test, and marketing.

  • Demonstrated process improvement skills

  • Strong personal leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Linux USER space IO Device Driver development and debug with SPDK & DPDK.

  • Detailed knowledge of NVME over Fabrics and SAN tools development

  • Experience with Ethernet protocols like RoCE, DCB and ECN

  • Demonstrated skills in partner management

  • Strong presentation skills

We are looking for talented software engineers with strong programming experience and expertise in large systems technology environments. The suitable candidate will be part of a focused, agile team to deliver mission-critical enterprise storage infrastructure software a long an aggressive technology roadmap. This position offers significant influence on future product system design and exposure to modern software development tools and capabilities. Primary Responsibilities: * Lead and contribute to cross-functional project teams through all phases of software development lifecycles, from inception through post-release activities * Design, develop and deliver new product features, bug fixes and enhancement requests per product requirements and schedules * Perform design and code reviews for guidelines/standards compliance, product quality improvements, and failure risk mitigation * Present technical content as needed, including proposals, proof-of-concept demonstrations, project progress, option negotiation, and quality investigations * Participate in cross-organizational initiatives using domain-specific expertise and software systems leadership * Promote and drive continuous improvement, innovation and new technology adoption into projects and organizational processes * Collaborate and manage relationships with other HPE engineering and business teams and HPE partners or customers, as needed * Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members Education and Experience Required: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent * Typically 6-10 years experience Knowledge and Skills: * Experience in C/C++ embedded or distributed Linux systems programming, or similar * Experience in I/O storage protocols such as NVMe, NVMeoF, PCIe, RDMA, SAS, FC, SATA, iSCSI, NFS, SMB or S3 is highly preferred * Experience working with large, established code repositories is preferred * Experience with Storage Class Memory devices is a plus * Experience with Software-Defined Storage or cloud micro-service technologies is a plus * Experience working in cross-functional or geographically distributed software development teams * Experience working in Agile/Scrum/continuous integration software development environments * Experience developing test cases for continuous integration automation frameworks is a plus * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, especially in root cause analysis of complex customer field issues * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Ability to adapt to changes in work direction, roadmaps and program priorities * Ability to effectively present at senior management levels #LI-CT Job: Engineering Job Level: Expert Hewlett Packard Enterprise is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
