NORC at the University of Chicago is seeking Senior Statisticians to join our Statistics and Methodology department.


The Statistics and Methodology department pioneers innovations in survey research, analytics, and data science. We work in collaboration with all NORC subject area departments, while also conducting our own industry research.

In the survey research arena, members of our team help understand the cognitive processes underlying respondents' reactions to surveys; design and implement rigorous, efficient methods for sampling from populations and weighting resultant survey data; and employ advanced techniques for analyzing and interpreting survey and secondary data. NORC statisticians utilize a broad range of analytic methods such as predictive modeling, survival analysis, item response theory, latent variable analysis, small area estimation, GIS/spatial analysis, psychometrics, and econometrics in deriving insights from data. NORC data scientists apply advanced techniques such as machine learning, natural language processing, data linkage, data visualization, network analysis, optimization, simulation, and parallel processing in working with large and multiple datasets.

VIEW JOBS 8/20/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-18T00:00 Job Description Description SAIC is seeking a Senior Technical Operations and Exploitation Analyst to support a major program at the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) within the National Capital Region. Duties and responsibilities include: * Conducting forensic examinations and exploitation of various types of digital media. * Conducting targeting, Pattern of Life studies, behavioral analysis, link analysis, and general intelligence analysis on information extracted from the media. * Conducting multi-source investigations using various databases to further evaluate findings, map relationships, determine foreign travel, analyze geo-location information, verify user attribution, and independently corroborate the user's background information. * Using a whole person concept to assess an individual's overall behavior, honesty, integrity, judgment, reliability, authenticity, and general motivations. * Using a broad understanding of intelligence collection capabilities and how that information can be used to validate a Source. Qualifications * Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to pass a CI polygraph prior to starting. * Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related (technical) discipline and at least ten (10) years of related experience. * Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated technical exploitation experience and skills such as computer forensics, technical exploitation, reverse engineering, and malware analysis. * Minimum of 4 years of experience providing technical asset validation in support of technical operations. * Strong problem-solving abilities and critical-thinking skills. * Strong analytic, research, and investigative skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Experience in intelligence reporting, investigations, and/or targeting highly-desired. * Experience in designing, implementing and documenting computer forensics services to include evidence seizure, computer forensic analysis, and data recovery. * Experience conducting advanced technical exploitation and computer forensic analysis of various digital media devices with focus on the user's authenticity, reliability, and indicators of hostile control. * Experience assessing the technical profile of the user by determining the user's technical capabilities. * Experience answering technical exploitation questions or requirements as defined by the customer (e.g., report on any other items of interest found on the device regarding Finances, Travel, Profile, Background, intelligence interest, Contacts, Alcohol/Drug use, Medical/Psychological information, etc.). * Experience preparing summary and detailed technical findings reports. * Experience conducting link analysis, Pattern of Life studies, and other tasks as assigned.
