What you will do-
Stryker's Senior Staff User Interface Designer collaborates with Global Marketing and R&D as part of the New Product Development team, applying user research methodologies and technical design skills to generate insights and concepts that lead to the development of innovative robotically assisted orthopedic surgery applications, databases and websites. User Centered Design techniques are key skills required to determine appropriate user experience, ergonomics, function, aesthetics, quality and safety.
The Senior Staff Interface Designer plays a key role in creating workflows, prototypes, and guidelines for the user interfaces in order to simplify the user interaction and improve efficiency in the operating room. Through close collaboration with engineers, product managers and surgeons, they support user and design research including usability studies, ethnographic field research, user surveys, prototype testing and competitive product analysis. They create storyboards, proof-of-concept mockups, demos and prototypes of Stryker applications and features and collaborate in the definition of user interface design standards for Stryker applications to optimize ease-of-use and achieve an integrated and consistent look and feel.
What you need-
Successful candidates should have the technical and management skills to lead the team through the empathic design process from insight gathering to concept ideation and development. Merging an understanding of human and business needs, this role is expected to create high quality design solutions that can be commercialized. Our strongest candidates will demonstrate design leadership potential, mentor those around them and have the capability to act as a user interface design subject matter expert within the business.
Bachelor's degree is required (degrees in industrial design, visual arts, or graphic design are strongly preferred)
6+ years of experience required (experience within software application design / development is strongly preferred)
Experience with Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Protopie and other graphic design tools
Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue resolution
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team
Good (written and oral) communication skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to work under tight time constraints
This job may be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States, except that this job may not be filled or performed in Colorado.
