Overview

Seeking a highly technical candidate with 5+ years of relevant experience working on the design, integration, and verification of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) equipment applicable to border security. The candidate will apply best systems engineering practices to ensure designs are technically sound and meet the full customer requirements, can be completed on time and within budget & scope, and produce a quality product resulting in a high degree of customer satisfaction. This position is for a Systems Engineer at Elbit Systems of America (ESA) in Fort Worth Texas. This position requires frequent travel to the border between the United States and Mexico ranging across multiple states.

Responsibilities

  • Develop next generation C4ISR surveillance systems including but not limited to surveillance cameras, radars, laser range finders, laser illuminators, microwave communications, solar power systems, generators, and smart fencing in remote areas, perform trade studies to justify equipment selection

  • Generate detailed written System Acceptance Test Plan documents based on customer and derived requirements

  • Coordinate with engineers, schedulers, procurement personnel, subcontract managers, quality assurance personnel, and construction subcontractors

  • Coordinate with the customer to develop and define the System Acceptance Test criteria

  • Generate, conduct, and coordinate System Acceptance Test procedures for new surveillance systems

  • Work with the systems engineering team to develop C4ISR surveillance system integration and verification (I&V) plans and execute I&V plans.

  • Responsible for producing System Acceptance Test data and associated reports

  • Understand the software architecture and algorithms required to support C4ISR systems

  • Responsible for developing surveillance solutions utilizing cameras, radars, laser illuminators, etc.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related technical field is required and a minimum of 5 years' systems engineering experience is required.

  • Excellent systems engineering skills

  • Ability to work independently and work as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT)

  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks successfully; within scope, on time, within budget while delivering a quality product to the customer

  • Ability to quickly become proficient in new areas

  • Ability to develop high level plans and detailed procedures

  • Skilled in requirements development, test plan development, and test case development

  • Skilled in root cause analysis

  • General wireless communications knowledge required

  • Must have Electro-optical and infrared camera knowledge

  • Must have Ground and Maritime radar knowledge

  • Must have networking knowledge, understanding the difference in routing and switching capabilities

  • Must be willing to travel (up to 25%) domestically and internationally as required.

  • Proof of US citizenship required for security clearance with US government. Existing clearance is a plus.

The applicant will primarily coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and the completion of multiple system related projects. By providing Sustainment Supply technical assistance, the applicant will take part in developing and executing BOS guidance and direction to support the overall development of F-35 sustainment operations worldwide. The individual will act as a Sustainment Supply Subject Matter Expert of ALIS and SAP integration as part of the BOS team and be knowledgeable amongst other tools that stretch across the enterprise (e.g. ATLAS, LDM). The successful candidate will interact with internal and external customers on a technical level in an IPT environment with the Joint Program Office ALIS SCM Core team. The candidate reviews system design documents for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. The successful candidate will have experience in supply chain and logistics management, warehouse management and design, and how they relate to the toolsets used both internally and externally. Must have strong project management and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a fast paced and fluid environment. Candidate must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and have a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. The responsibilities of the position include: * Provide subject matter expert (SME) support as needed for Sustainment Supply tools and processes * Assist in SAP and ALIS requirements work package reviews and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development for contract changes and systems engineering change proposals. * Analyze and resolve customer-raised enterprise system issues and gaps * Brief customer, program leadership, and peers on program and project status * Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance after starting. Basic Qualifications: * SAP / ALIS Supply Chain Management Expertise * Technical project management experience * Experience with Microsoft Office products (Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). * Experience with systems integration, technical flow, processes, and/or design. * Experience communicating with and presenting to internal and external program management. Desired Skills: * System level User Acceptance Testing, Negative Testing, Root Cause Analysis. * Requirement Work Package development, and approval. * Cost Benefit Analysis, and Risk Assessment * Agile methodology knowledge * Knowledge of international and U. S. Government customer supply operations. * Knowledge of Performance Based Logistics Concepts. * Knowledge of taxes and tariffs, customs, warehouse bonding and licensing. * Strong communication skills both oral and written. * Must be willing to mentor junior-level team members.
