In recent years the Beckman Hematology business unit has reinvented itself through rigorous implementation of DBS processes. As we continue our evolution we are looking forward to creating the next generation of Hematology technology. We have exciting industry changing products in the pipeline and they require a new modern cutting-edge software platform to deliver their full potential. To help us deliver this attractive proposition we need a talented, motivated Software Architect to join our team in Miami, Florida, USA.

The successful candidate will join a team of highly skilled engineers charged with delivering the next generation of software platform for Beckman's Hematology products together with the infrastructure and processes to build it quickly and with the highest quality. Within Hematology itself there are a wide range of internal stakeholders to collaborate with, from Product Management to Field Service Engineers to V&V labs to Manufacturing and more. Customer roles to consider are almost as varied, including lab supervisors, Medical Technicians and IT groups.

As we strongly believe Edge computing utilizing Container technology is the most promising path forward for our products an understanding and passion for this is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Software Architecture for Beckman's Hematology products

  • Work collaboratively with Hematology stakeholders, other Beckman business units and other Danaher operating companies to develop and implement a technology roadmap

  • Analyze needs for next generation Hematology software and describe them as a coherent architecture containing a mixture of third party and home grown elements

  • Communicate a vision to both executives and hands on engineers

  • Stay up to date with latest technology trends

  • Work within the constraints of incremental approach to implementing next generation architecture, making use of revenue generating product roadmap projects to develop and deploy elements of the new architecture

  • In parallel with architecting the next generation of software this position requires high level oversight of enhancements to the existing generation of products. New features must be designed and implemented in a manner consistent with good object oriented principles and have the flexibility to meet future as well as immediate business needs

  • Research, recommend and guide adoption of tools which will aid the design, development, building and deployment of the next generation of products

  • Mentor teams in the design, development, unit testing, implementation and deployment of software

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 8 years of experience in the software industry, with proven prior experience in a Software Architect role

  • Experience and/or interest in Cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure

  • Experience and/or interest in Container technologies such as Docker

  • Experience with Web Technologies (HTML 5, JS Variants)

  • Exposure Multi-threaded application development

  • Knowledge on data persistence and query: SQL and No SQL DB

  • Exposure to Continuous Integration, delivery and deployment, version control including exposure to GIT

  • Go live experience / commissioning of products to customers

  • Experience in Agile development processes and philosophies

  • Track record of clearly documenting designs and architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the microservices architecture and distributed application development (SOAP/REST based Web services, Messaging)

  • Solid experience architecting, designing and developing Windows and Web applications

  • Exposure to Continuous Integration, delivery and deployment, version control including exposure to GIT

  • Understanding of software development processes for a regulated environment, e.g. ISO 13485

  • Exposure to Networking protocols

Reporting to the Director of Client Success, Global Data Products, you will be an integral part of Visa's Data Products team, helping bridge client needs with relevant and impactful data products and solutions. You will managing a set of customer accounts to drive adoption, active usage and measure KPIs to track success. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of previous experience growing top performing customer success and experience accounts within a data and/or software-as-a-service business. As a Customer Success Manager, you will: * Design and implement best practices for building long-term strategic relationships with our customers * Influence and educate customers to align them on best practices.
