Were hiring for a Senior Staff Registered Nurse (RN) in our Open-Heart Surgery unit to work full-time in Valdosta, Georgia.
This full-time Senior Staff RN job will be a day shift position, flexible hours with call.
The Senior Staff Registered Nurse job in the Open-Heart Surgery unit will circulating nurses may ensure all patient paperwork is completed, such as consent forms.
During the procedure, nurses may also document what takes place.
Circulating nurses may also replenish surgical supplies as needed during the procedure.
After the procedure, they may verify instrument count and complete charting.
The hospital contains two operating rooms and a hybrid room.
Main procedures in the OR consist of open-heart surgeries and vascular case.
Open-Heart Surgery Senior Staff Nurse

Job Requirements:
Active Georgia License ACLS can be acquired upon hire No Surgical Experience needed; willing to train Open-heart experience is a plus Critical Care Nursing Experience Required Open-Heart Senior Staff Surgery Nurse

Job Responsibilities:
Monitor patients for signs of complications during and after operating procedures.
Track patients' vital signs during operations.
Supervise surgical technologists and medical assistants during surgeries.
Provide education to patients and their families about the recovery process.
Sets priorities appropriately for care of patients Organizes workload to complete work assignments within scheduled shift and times Working to collaborate with others to assertively move patient along the continuum of care Ability to communicate clearly with, and care for diverse population of patients/family units of all ages, a variety of cultures, and/or persons occasionally exhibiting stressed behaviors.

JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION: The Registered Nurse, (RN), assumes primary leadership accountability and responsibility for milieu management as well as directing patient care activities of other nursing staff. The RN maintains standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policy and procedures, other external governing and credentialing bodies, performance improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing standards. The RN assesses the patient utilizing the nursing process to formulate an individualized plan of care for each patient, implements interventions, and evaluates outcomes consistent with policy and appropriate to the current client's condition; which promote, maintain, and restore physical and mental health, and prevent illness. The RN interprets age/disability specific information in response to client population served. The RN provides for the safe delivery of medication in accordance with the policies and procedures, physicians orders and/or current practice. The RN is responsible for thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of the patient's symptoms, responses and progress. The RN assumes responsibility for professional development, continuing education and maintaining licensure. DESIRABLE MINIMUM QUALIFICTIONS: The RN must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to consistently achieve positive results with internal and external customers, be highly organized, have an understanding and sensitivity to serve culturally diverse and special needs population such as Chronically Mentally Ill, Geriatric, CD, as well as be versed in basic knowledge of normal physical and emotional development. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: State of Georgia licensure as an RN. Shall be able to maintain CEU requirements to renew licensure, CPI and CPR certifications and complete other educational requests as assigned and/or needed to increase skill level. SPECIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work in high stress and assess potential for patient escalation. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand on feet for long intervals and have dexterity to participate in physical restraint of patients when necessary. A certain amount of walking and standing are often necessary to carry out job duties. Lifting/carrying will routinely exceed 10 pounds and involves assisting patients in ambulation, positioning and ADLs. May be required to lift, roll, or otherwise assist in moving patients. The functions are defined as follows: Acuity – far clarity of vision at 20 feet or more Acuity – near clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Depth perception three dimensional vision – the ability to judge distance and space relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are. Field of vision – the area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while the eyes are fixed on a given point. Accommodation - adjustment of the lens of the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This item is especially important when doing near-point work at varying distances. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work requires spending approximately 60% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. May be exposed to outdoors conditions as much as 40% of duty hours. PRIMARY CUSTOMERS: Patients; Family Members; Visitors; General Public; Coworkers; Other departments within the facility.
