Position Summary

Job Description:

Responsible for development of electronics product requirements, feature requirements, systems, and performance analysis, conducting deep-dive customer sessions on 4G/5G Call processing related features, and air interface technologies. Analyze customer electronics requirements, converting then into system requirements and capturing of detail design for the development team for all Samsung electronics product features.

Lead technical discussions on Samsung electronics products and scheduler-related features with several customer vertical organizations including 4G/5G radio access network (RAN) development groups and RAN performance groups. Author technical proposals, technical research and white papers, design documents, operator network design, RFI/RFP, and patent filings. Accountable for leading field integration testing efforts (FFA/FIT/FSA) of all 4G/5G key features with customers, including test plan development, reviewing test plan with customers, driving cross-functional teams to execution, reviewing test results, issue identification, analysis, and quality proofing until software acceptance is achieved.

Aid in electronics product and feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product and software releases, and third-party product evaluation to build product synergies. Translate and communicate complex technical design considerations between the Samsung sales team and carriers' network business. Ensure that customer commitments are achieved according to plan.

Work closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new electronics product rollouts and developments. Responsible for Tier3 support, analyzing and troubleshooting scheduler related issues reported from customer labs, field sites and production network. Review and provide recommendations to improve LTE RAN network performance by evaluating and trending key performance indicators, performing trials, and providing optimization guidelines for electronics systems and products.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics and Communication Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related job titles. Applicants must have 2 years of experience with the following: (1) the wireless industry including defining direction and providing specific instruction for engineering projects/programs; (2) 3GPP standards as it applies to LTE networks and 5G NR Networks; (3) CDMA/EVDO, 5G and LTE/Volte technologies; (4) optimization, testing, drive-data and peg count analysis; (5) Base Station Vendor equipment; (6) RF and data network protocols; (7) Mapping Software including MapInfo; and (8) 4G and 5G new site launch and KPI and drive based optimization.
