As a Senior Staff Engineer, Current Product Engineering this is your unique opportunity to set your mark and live on the leading edge. Under the direction of the Manager-Engineering, Current Product, this individual will perform assignments requiring a high degree of technical competence.

This role will provide technical direction of major product design improvement projects on faucet products assembled in Kohler Co. Sheridan, Arkansas plant. The individual will be based out of plant, as liaison to manufacturing, with remote reporting to solid line manager in Kohler WI.

This position will include planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects and requires a high level of technical skill in the areas of design, analysis, development, code listing and testing of products and components.

Skills/Requirements

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited engineering OR engineering technology program required. Master's Degree in Engineering highly desirable.

  • Typically has 12 years of work experience to obtain this level of innovation, results, and competence. However, an advanced degree or track record of high performance, innovation, results and demonstrated competency at the prior level may be considered as an alternative to up to 2 years of work experience.

  • Specific areas of expertise such as CAD, FEA, fluid dynamics, and microprocessor-based control design are highly desirable.

  • Experience providing successful technical leadership on a major project highly desirable.

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering or a manufacturing environment a plus.

VIEW JOBS 1/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-10T00:00 As a Senior Project Engineer – Plastics, you will assist in the evaluation of manufacturing and quality processes for new products and components and modifications to existing products and components as required by the Kohler Co. You will take ownership of the process value stream, driving continuous improvement in materials, flow, processes, process control, automation, and equipment. You will work with Project, Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Engineers in the review of new product and component designs and will implement basic reliability evaluation and test plans. Highlighted Responsibilities * Assist product and project engineers and project teams to evaluate the technical feasibility of new product concepts and technical modifications to existing products. * Use statistical software and statistical tools such as DOE, Gage R&R and FMEA's. * Maintains awareness of relevant and leading edge process technologies and improves technical skills. * Assure functional acceptability through reliability testing and analysis. * Determines the technical feasibility of capital project or process improvement concepts embracing Lean Manufacturing philosophy. Prepares detailed project plans including technical objectives and alternatives, schedule, equipment layouts, project cost estimates and benefits. Requirements: * A minimum of 2 years of plastics processing experience in a high volume manufacturing environment. * B.S. degree from an engineering discipline, preferred in plastics, materials or chemical engineering * RJG Master Molder I or equivalent scientific molding theory * Injection molding and Project Management experience * Strong written and verbal communication skills and a continuous drive to improve and upgrade skills as required. * Computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite and Pro-E or AutoCAD experience are also required. Preferred Experience: * Thick-walled molding * Registration as an EIT or Professional Engineer * Lean manufacturing experience Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
