Summary:

Under the direction of the Shared Business Operations leadership, this manages the effectiveness, efficiency, and engagement of the Healthcare Accounting team and coordinating communication between the health system and its various sites (hospitals, clinics, health systems, and corporate). A Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for accounting and reporting for financial transactions managed and initiated by Finance Leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Peer leading the SBO Staff Accountants: The Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting company initiatives by ensuring that the team of Accountants focused on the Financial area assigned are well trained, supported, and equipped to perform their job duties, up to and including reviewing work and reports before distribution to the Clinic and Corporate leadership.

  • Financial reporting: Preparing and presenting financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • General ledger management: Recording financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the records.

  • Account reconciliation: Reconciling accounts and resolving any discrepancies between records and transactions.

  • Accounts payable and receivable: Managing the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and collections.

  • Budget management: Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring that expenses are in line with budgetary guidelines.

  • Compliance: Ensuring that all financial records and transactions are in compliance with accounting principles and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations.

  • Communication and collaboration: Collaborating with other departments, such as accounting, finance, and operations, to ensure that financial records and transactions are accurately recorded and reported

Qualifications:

Required Education: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited university

Required Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in Accounting/Finance setting and general accounting knowledge.

Preferred Experience: Hospital/Healthcare System, multi-site accounting experience preferred

Computer Skills Required: Google Suite preferred; willingness to learn Oracle and leverage the training, reporting, and process components to excel at role
