Senior Staff Accountant

Summary

Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.

Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.

Reviews vouchers, and processes accounts payable checks.

Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

Maintains Fixed Assets system and prepares spreadsheet with entries to be entered.

Performs various projects as directed.

Assist with Physical inventories.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
