  • Perform daily accounting activities; journal entries, re-class and reconcile to general ledger, required to maintain general ledger

  • Prepare complex foreign currency translation analysis and journal entries, including the month end close revenue reconciliation between two accounting systems

  • Perform Month end/Quarterly/Annual Accounting close procedures; analyzing actual vs forecast and prior month

  • Prepare and review month-end journal entries; product returns reserve calculations, intercompany transactions

  • Analyze, perform and review monthly account reconciliations

  • Assist, perform and review the corporate monthly and quarterly variance analysis

  • Perform and maintain Sarbanes Oxley controls & provide audit support

  • Respond to ad-hoc internal and external accounting-related inquiries and requests

  • Assist with producing monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and adhoc financial reports


  • Strong knowledge in MS Office suite

  • Excellent Microsoft excel and pivot table skills

  • Some knowledge of accounting in foreign currencies, foreign exchange rates and foreign currency gains and losses

  • Excellent verbal and written communications

  • Approachable

  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced and often changing environment while being calm under pressure

  • Ability to work with others to achieve agreeable outcome.

  • Develop strong relationships with team and internal/external customers

  • Well organized

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Thorough understanding of daily GL activities, monthly/quarterly close process and all process controls (SOX).

  • Full knowledge of accounting rules, analysis and month end reconciliations

  • Ability to create and enter more complex journal entries

  • Can create and analyze financial reports

What you get to do: Under limited supervision, the Senior Staff Accountant assists the Assistant Director of Finance and Director of Finance in performing multiple duties related to the accounting functions of the organization within established deadlines. Your day-to-day: * Prepare, review, and process payroll and deductions schedules. * Prepare, process, and audit daily revenue report. * Reconcile and process all accounts receivable (transient and group). * Assist in the posting of accounts to the general ledger and daily reconciliations for both the hotel and restaurant: accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, cash disbursements and payroll. * Review open invoice reports and follow up with a schedule of payments or adjustments. * Assist with Accounts Payable processing, auditing, and reconciliation. * Daily and monthly tax reconciliation. * Assist Assistant Director of Finance & Director of Finance with audits and month-end close financials. * Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner. * Perform other related duties as directed or as the situation dictates. Specific experience we are seeking: * One to two years accounting experience and/or education/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. * Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. * Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
