Objective: ALTOUR Louisville is seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Accountant to assist in the overall daily requirements of the ALTOUR Finance department including but not limited to the analysis of financial information and preparation of financial reports to determine or maintain a record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities.


  • Maintains general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly, and setting up new accounts.

  • Coordinate monthly financial closing and analyze income-related accounts for reasonableness to provide financial reports to division and corporate management.

  • Compile financial data for corporate tax reporting to comply with federal and state government requirements.

  • Communicate with internal departments to compile financial data to satisfy corporate consolidation reporting requirements.

  • Perform monthly cash reconciliations and various balance sheet account controls to ensure accuracy.

  • Preparing corporate customer settlement statements

  • Credit card processing and statement reconciliations

  • Accounting responsibilities for Meeting and Incentive group in Peachtree

  • Assist internal/external auditors in performing initial financial department audits to ensure accuracy.

  • Monitors accounts receivables collection from individuals and/or institutions, interfaces with bank. Reconciles customer accounts. May also require booking of sales.

  • Participation in phone queue and team email management efforts

Skills/ Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting, or equivalent experience is required.

  • Two plus years' accounting experience

  • Customer service and strong team orientation

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Peachtree experience a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products especially Excel and Word

  • Detail Oriented with high level of attention to financial accuracy.

  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/ or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting or standing as our work stations accommodate both styles depending on personal preference.

  • Some repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/ or fingers.

  • Typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers.

  • Must be able to comprehend instructions, interpret documents, and apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex financial tasks.

  • Advanced language and work usage and accomplished writing skills, analyze information and write narratives and footnotes, and comprehend complex issues and communicate effectively to internal employee groups.

  • Job requires employee to preform basic arithmetic accurately and compute rates and percentages.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally (verbally and in writing) as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
