Salary:             Range 72: $91,068 - $119,496 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION

Position may be eligible for hybrid working; a combination of telework and working in-office.

  • Performs system support of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) database operations for the Administrative Office of the Courts Judicial Information Systems.

  • Reports to an ISD Manager and is responsible for performing work with the appropriate degree of expertise and skill in a proficient, qualified and specialized role.

  • Work is expected to be performed with expert level skills as defined within the essential functions for this position.

  • Work at the senior level is performed independently with decision making responsibility commensurate with the technical expertise required of the position.  Work products are expected to be of the highest quality and utilized to review and evaluate the technical work products of lower level system support analysts.

A combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the duties, responsibilities and competencies of the Senior Database Administrator may substitute for the qualifications listed.

A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science,

Software/Computer Engineering, OR closely allied field, AND:

  •  Eight (8) years of senior-level experience working with relational database systems.

THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Responsible for supporting the Microsoft SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability, and security.

  • Evaluates, installs, and maintains SQL database server software.

  • Performs capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning of all components of each SQL database; participates in overall system performance monitoring and tuning.

  • Data Modeling: Familiarity with data modeling concepts helps you design efficient and effective databases.

  • Database Management: Proficiency in managing databases, including tasks like backup, restoration, and troubleshooting.

  • Security: DBAs must ensure data security and privacy settings.

  • Functions as the technical expert for SQL database software installation, maintenance, and problem resolution; coordinates with internal and external component specialists for problem resolution.

  • Maintains and monitors SQL Server including: databases, high availability, security, database backup/restore, etc.

  • Instructs and consults analyst/programming staff on the usage of SQL Server  software and related equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 5 years recent SQL Server administration experience (2016+) with one year administering SQL 2019, to include:

  • Managing SQL Server Enterprise Edition in a high availability environment.

  • Working with SQL Server in a virtual environment

  • Managing 8 or more windows servers running SQL Server

  • Maintaining and monitoring databases, security, database backup/restore, etc.

  • Experience in database performance tuning (index tuning, query tuning, server tuning).

  • Proficiency in T-SQL programming.

  • Experience with databases up to 1Tb

  • Data warehousing experience

  • Experience with SQL Integration Services (SSIS), Query Store, Reporting Services.

  • Experience working with SQL server in a disaster recovery scenario.

  • .Net/Powershell experience

  • Azure SQL Database
