The Senior SQA Test Analyst develops comprehensive test strategies, and plans through identifying test objectives, test scope, methodologies, test data, test resources, estimating effort, and defines test scheduled and milestones within project scope. Oversees test planning and test execution activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interprets property and casualty business documents, business requirements, technical and procedural instructions and procedure manuals and uses these documents to develop detailed test plans and test cases

  • Coordinate all aspects of test execution including coordinating and facilitating the environment

  • Understand and analyze business requirements for testability and completeness

  • Create complex, reusable test data sets and test plans to perform system testing of upgrades to production systems.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, on-line screens, content and facilitate remediation.

  • Provide feedback and risk assessment throughout the SDLC.

  • Troubleshoot complex setups to isolate and determine defect root cause.

  • Metrics gathering and reporting of test coverage.

  • Understanding of change, configuration management and release management in addition to testing.

  • Define & document test strategies and processes; manage small test teams and QA tasks.

  • Lead test case development and execution by test analyst.

  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members and reviews test cases and other testing artifacts created by other team members for completeness and accuracy.

  • Design, develop and implement training on QA methodology, process, procedures and tools.

  • Communicates with project manager(s) for assigned project on testing status, issues, risks, etc.

  • Contributes to establishment of standards and procedures for processing.

  • Participate in the implementation of new process initiatives in assigned projects.

  • Establishes benchmarks for program efficiency in operation and response time.

  • Various other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer software, hardware, software development lifecycle, software testing lifecycle, troubleshooting and testing methodologies

  • Highly motivated, energetic, personable, thorough, detail oriented, and ability to multitask.

  • Must have knowledge and experience with Automated Software Quality Assurance software.

  • Familiarity with automating functional test cases

  • Experience in gathering and reporting testing and quality metrics is required

  • Experience in test effort estimation is required

  • Must have strong analysis, problem solving, organizational skills and time management skills.

  • Ability to deal with a fast-paced, regularly evolving work environment, and multiple competing priorities

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task is critical

  • Experience planning multiple levels of testing for a product's release (e.g. functional, integration, system, performance, failover, etc.).

  • Experience determining what to optimize for an aggressive schedule without violating the integrity of a test

  • Must have good leadership skills, communication skills and decision-making abilities.

  • Must be detail oriented to provide quality results

  • Demonstrated strong focus on teamwork

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of Property and Casualty insurance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or up to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
