The Impact you will have in this role:

The Splunk Engineering and Delivery team provides engineering and support for Splunk tools including Splunk Cloud, Splunk Enterprise, ITSI and Observability.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Work on engineering and development focused projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.

• Provide technical and operational support for our customer base as well as other technical areas within the company that use our tools.

• Risk management functions such as reconciliation of vulnerabilities, security baselines as well as other risk and audit related objectives

• Administrative functions for our tools such as keeping the tool documentation current and handling service requests.

• 24x7 on-call L3 support on a rotational schedule with other team members

• Participate in user training to increase awareness of Splunk tools under team's portfolio.

• Ensuring incident, problem and change tickets are addressed in a timely fashion, as well as bringing up technical and managerial issues.

• Following DTCC's ITIL process for incident, change and problem resolution.

• Develop Splunk reports to meet requirements of key partners.

• Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk appropriately.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of six (6) years of related Splunk work experience with expertise in ITSI.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

• 5+ years' experience of Splunk engineering/support in a production environment. This includes all phases of lifecycle management: planning, design, deployment, upkeep, and retirement.

• Programming experience (Python, Shell, JavaScript) is desirable.

• Excellent knowledge and administrative skills in Splunk ITSI (must).

• Extensive knowledge on parsing data from various data sources

• Proficient in creating and optimizing big data correlations using Splunk search language (SPL).

• Experience developing and working with REST APIs

• Well versed with Splunk Technology Add-ons

• Skilled with various SaaS integrations.

• Moderate to advanced competency of Windows and Unix-like operating system principles (power user functions)

• Good SQL skills and good knowledge of relational databases

• Good knowledge of engineering, configuring, deploying, and supporting Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud, ITSI and Observability

• Good knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals

• Good knowledge of Amazon AWS products and services such as EC2, Lambda, VPC, Route 53, Amazon FW, ALB, and CloudTrail.
