What Field Service contributes to Cardinal Health

Field Service is responsible managing the success of the relationship with an assigned set of customers in order to achieve the goals and objectives identified by the customer and Cardinal Health. Responsible for identifying, quantifying, qualifying, tracking, and evaluating customer pain points and, for facilitating, developing, designing and implementing processes that improve overall customer experience. Act as customer advocate and liaison back into Cardinal Health organization (field sales, customer service, implementation, contracts).

We save our customers money on shipments they're already receiving today by providing a full service freight management program dedicated to reducing healthcare freight costs.


  • Advise customers on shipping and program-related needs to support the achievement of freight-management goals

  • Collaborate with other functions to meet customer needs

  • Coordinate client business reviews to evaluate performance on the OptiFreight program and assess opportunities for spend reduction and volume growth

  • Work with internal partners to identify opportunities for enhancement in internal processes and to create Lean solutions that improve the client experience

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and develop value-added services including: channel-specific reporting, shipping platform enhancements and shipment intervention initiatives

  • Create strategy to develop and grow relationships with new and base accounts

  • Manage current customers on the OptiFreight Program

  • Partner to sell new customers OptiFreight program

  • Manage current ambulatory surgery center customers on the OptiFreight Program

  • Sell new ambulatory surgery center customers OptiFreight program

  • Collaborate with ASC Field Reps on customer issues, feedback and new sales

  • Conduct ride-alongs with ASC Field Reps and jointly attend tradeshows/conferences to connect with customers and generate leads

  • Make routine sales phone calls to customer leads to generate new OptiFreight business

  • Develop relationships internally and externally to achieve business results

  • Retain and grow base customer account volume

  • Deliver excellent customer service

  • Collaborate with internal support team to ensure successful implementation process for new customers

  • Complete projects to standardize team work and advance channel service delivery


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 2-4 years' experience

  • Strong communication skills

This includes all aspects of troubleshooting and diagnostics. This level is the final comprehensive tier to include work flow analysis, customer relations and ultimately customer satisfaction and retention. - Meets customer demands by providing efficient, responsive and accurate flow of service information. - Maintains all technical information and Canon property assigned and provides direction to less senior engineers in same. - Provides the solutions of escalated technical and / or customer service related problem areas for any territory requested. Qualifications- Associates degree in electronics or electrical engineering capacity from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience. - Military experience is a huge plus. - Possess a basic understanding of internet environments. - May require some travel - Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary. - Must be able to work in a 24x7 environment, and do on-call rotations. - Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be in a mobile activity more than 50% of the time (walking, standing, stooping/kneeling).
