Job Summary

The Contracts Sr. Specialist will be responsible for supporting implementation of Lidl US contracts, in addition to providing other standard contractual support and management. The Contracts Sr. Specialist will serve as a resource for contract issues throughout the company and its affiliates in the U.S. and abroad.

Essential Functions

  • Effectively intake and process incoming company requests related to commercial contracts, including vendor/supplier agreements, professional services agreements, and agreements related to marketing, events, real estate/construction, and logistics/supply chain.

  • Review and analyze commercial contracts and opposing party edits, and draft comments.

  • Research and draft memos on different areas of the law.

  • Support legal team, including contracts specialist colleague and attorneys, in advising business on legal matters, especially related to commercial contracts.

  • Support business units by serving as liaison for the legal team, including attending meetings as the sole legal representative as needed.

  • Contribute to building cross-functional partnerships with other departments and ensure legal initiatives are being carried out throughout the company.

  • Maintain company and Legal Department records, especially related to commercial contracts and other legal advice.

  • Support internal Legal Department and company audits on existing contracts, contract policies and procedures, and aligning with company standards and initiatives.

  • Perform other contract analysis and management duties as assigned.


Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • 2+ years of legal related work experience

  • Experience interpreting contracts

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Experience with commercial contracts such as vendor/supplier agreements, professional services agreements, and agreements related to marketing, events, real estate/construction, and logistics/supply chain

  • Experience with legal research

  • Critical attention to detail

  • Focus on project completion and professionalism

  • Excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines

Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree

  • Significant experience in a high-demand law firm and/or professional setting

  • German language skills

  • Advanced legal research skills, including ability to effectively use Westlaw and related tools

  • Experience in a global/culturally diverse environment
