Job summary:

As a Communications Senior Specialist, you will support the development and execution of effective internal communications strategies, plans, and deliverables to drive an integrated strategy across Deloitte's Audit & Assurance (A&A) business. Working closely with a high-performing communications team as well as with leaders and subject matter experts, the Communications Senior Specialist should have a strategic and executional mindset in order to manage multiple projects, while delivering high-value communications to support strategic objectives. 5+ years experience in communications is desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Communications Manager, works with internal stakeholders to design, develop, and implement communications plans, processes, and content to drive key aspects of the A&A strategy, specifically focused on areas of the business that focus on growth and delivery of high-quality audit and assurance services

  • Interacts with multiple communications team members to coordinate, support, and lead internal communications activities, plans, and timely production of business-wide communications deliverables that enable and inspire our business of 10,000+ professionals

  • Collaborates with external agencies and internal resources to design internal communications and creative campaign assets such as newsletters, promotional videos, infographics, internal intranet sites, podcasts, and other digital resources to drive employee engagement

  • Writes and edits internal communications in support of A&A strategic priorities (e.g., leadership messages, articles, talking points, webcast content, business-wide content, internal website pages, etc.)

  • Ensures appropriate sequencing of messages and campaign launches through thoughtful internal communication plans

  • Maintains discretion and confidentiality at all times when dealing with sensitive or proprietary information

  • Employs strong project management skills (initiating, planning, executing, managing, and closing projects to achieve plan objectives)

Key relationships and development

  • Develops relationships with fellow change management and communications team members, helps solve problems, and is a team player

  • Develops trusted advisor relationships and provides communications counsel to key internal clients, including leaders across the organization

The team

As part of the A&A Change Management & Communications team, the Internal Communications team provides value to the US Firm by delivering innovative communication strategies and approaches for internal audiencesto help our leaders influence positive behaviors, drive change, reinforce successes, and promote a strong sense of community through coordinated, consistent messaging. The team also collaborates closely with the A&A Marketing/PR team to ensure effective and efficient collaboration as we build and protect our brand.

Requirements:

Background/Experience

  • Internal communications professional with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant communications experienceprofessional services or related industry experience preferred

  • Experience in employee communications as part of large-scale change management efforts to drive the implementation of organizational transformation efforts is a bonus

  • Strong writing and editing skills and previous writing/editing experience in internal communications, PR, or journalism fields required

  • Demonstrated expertise in creative and content direction

  • Leverage excellent organizational and project management skills; craft agile short-term and long-term action plans

  • Exceptional relationship management skills to establish rapport, trust, and confidence with key stakeholders

  • Strong knowledge of best practices in corporate communications

  • Experience working in a virtual environment with team members across multiple offices/locations

  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word; knowledgeable in all aspects of Microsoft Office and ancillary programs

Education

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, English, or Journalism

What You'll Do Here: Build a strong partnership with leaders of the business to design the communications strategy, build the resulting program and lead the program execution. Analysis should be ongoing throughout the lifespan of a program (pre-launch, execution, post-launch) and recommendations provided in real-time on how to continuously improve the efficacy of each program. * Project Management – He/she will design, build, execute and oversee the management of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that goals and strategies are stated up front, all requirements are fully understood, materials are prepared and distributed on-time and on-budget.
