Provide FPGA engineering to the Wireless Solutions segment within the Harris Corporation Electronic Systems. Responsible for developing FPGA designs that relate to wireless communications. Involved in the entire software life cycle, including coding, integration, debugging, and full documentation. Requires a good knowledge base of engineering principles, theories and techniques. May be assigned the engineering responsibility for a project or part of a project depending upon size, scope and complexity. Design, develop, test and verify complex engineering tasks in software, systems, and/or hardware components. Encompass a wide range of sophisticated (cross-discipline) engineering problem resolutions. Involved in design and development of engineering assignments related to products and systems including the engineering of new products or updates to existing products.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develops FPGA modules in Verilog / VHDL in relation to wireless signal processing

  • Design, document, implement, and test using team processes

  • Create simulation test benches

  • Perform software/FPGA/hardware component integration while identifying, tracking, and repairing defects.


  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

  • Experience using VHDL and Verilog in the Xilinx Vivado environment

  • Ability to debug designs on hardware using test equipment and JTAG

  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and multi-meters

  • This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a security clearance. To obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in digital signal processing

  • Experience in FPGA design in digital radio design preferred

  • Ability to develop embedded C applications and drivers within Linux and/or RTOS environments

  • Knowledge of Git revision control and JIRA
